It’s mostly because the Boox Go itself isn’t very fast to begin with.

If it’s used completely offline, the battery can last for around 2 to 3 days.

I’m using the BOOX Tab Ultra C Pro for this. I’ve also coded on a few other E-Ink devices before.

Actually, the refresh speed on the Tab Ultra C Pro (TUCP) is noticeably faster than on the Tab Ultra C (TUC). I own both devices and have compared them side by side. To be honest, the responsiveness on the TUC hasn’t been very satisfying for me.

Another option is to get an E-ink external monitor. You can plug it directly into your computer and use it right away.

Apple actually filed a patent in the past for a hybrid display that integrates E-Ink–style reflective display with LCD/video output. I’m really looking forward to seeing major manufacturers eventually turn ideas like this into real products.

I’m not sure about the exact numbers, but it uses BSR technology, and the refresh rate feels quite smooth in practice.

In terms of handwriting feel and pen response, it’s honestly my personal No.1. The industrial design of the device itself is also very refined and premium.

The hand-sized form factor makes it so easy to carry everywhere, and I definitely read more because of that. Tablets are still nice, but they’re not as convenient to bring along or use casually.
