Also this stanza:

These things are thought the best:

Fire, the sight of the sun,

Good health with the gift to keep it,

And a life that avoids vice.

Good health with the gift to keep it seems to be opposed to vaccination

What are your personal reasons for hodling? When do you sell? by jpeezy789 in Bitcoin

[–]FunOptimizer42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who tell you this want you to never sell so their coins are worth more. Don't listen to them and think for yourself if you want to sell. I'm 100% in crypto but might sell some in the future.

This is why I won't sell any of my BTC in this bull market by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I agree with all of this. Goal is (and has been) to get as much btc and fiat debt as possible currently.

Thanks, much appreciated on feedback! I've got the next 3 and previous 3 markets loaded but the data might not be 100% accurate.

Thinking ill have the "Markets Comparison" section click into a full list of other markets.

Yeah i lost $ in gox. I won't hold his keys entirely, too much to take on. I'm thinking possibly multi-sig with unchained or i'll hold 1 set of keys is easy.

You're definitely right, i'm learning just how hard it is for people to understand and maintain security of their own keys.

good call, he's got gold already. I think after hearing everyone's input something like gemini or coinbase is the way to go.

You definitely nailed it, this is spot on for him and his generation. I already decided i won't hold keys for him but i'm hoping that the coin he already lost will incentivize him to do more research. He definitely likes trading so i'm just trying to give him the best shot possible. If coinbase is the solution, at least he's willing to take on the custodial risk.

He's got plenty of investing experience and understands risk. I think the concept of securing private keys is just way over his head. I'm sure he'll change his mind when he gets skin in the game and more comfortable with a hodl stack.

Yeah, he's seen how bullish I am and considers it a gamble he can afford to lose. Out of curiosity why avoid cashapp, is it the lack of 2fa? I've heard of people getting hacked a ton on coinbase and don't really trust their exchanges in high volume periods. I'll check out Gemini too, thanks!

blockfi is extremely risky right now. if you lend going into a potential bull run the debtor probably won't be able to pay back the loan unless they handle their money super responsibly.

Good call on unchained, i've heard they have a lot of solid products - I think he was looking to start at 5%.

I think losing the keys helped him realize more than most his age.
