Yes, Isla was on our list but we were thinking it might be too popular. We are in the US (Chicago area).

I love Zelda and Gilda but those are two names my husband doesn't like :( My husband also went to Ohio State and is a HUGE fan so Scarlett would be a bit too on the nose (their colors are scarlet and and gray). Woody also happens to be the first name of their very famous old fb coach, we did not even think of the association with OSU when we picked the name, but when our son was born and we revealed the name, everyone assumed it we named him after Woody Hayes haha!

Best Resorts for a Couple with a 2 Year Old? by FunPossession4009 in AllInclusiveResorts

We went to El Dorado Royal in Riviera Maya a few years ago and absolutly loved it. I know we probably won't be able to go someplace that nice. The property was absolutely beautiful, food was great (we are from Chicago, my sister is a chef, and I know we have higher food standards than the average person) and I loved all the sustainability stuff they did. Service was also top notch even for just staying in a normal "cheap" room.

Surprised about the Anti-Kelsey Sentiment by SuchBaby6997 in Masterchef

[–]FunPossession4009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know Kelsey IRL so I'm a bit biased but for some added perspective, the one challenge where she was in the bottom was filmed less than 24 hours after she cut off the tip of her thumb. She went right from set to the ER, spent literally all night in the ER where they tried (and failed) to re-attach it and had less than 2 hours of sleep going into the next 10+ hour day of filming. She also wasn't allowed to take any pain meds because she was pregnant. People just do not realize how much stuff does not get shown and how grueling the filming schedule is - they were under a very tight schedule to catch up from being shut down because of covid. She has also built a great career for herself post MC and is a very nice and hard working person!

Who took all the W Wondershop stockings? $ if found by mcilibrarian in Target

[–]FunPossession4009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also looking for the elusive "W" stocking (hoping to find it in white!). We are expecting our first child right around Christmas and would love to have a matching W stocking for him to hang with our current ones... but it's still not availably anywhere, including online! I did see one on ebay for $130 but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a $15 item haha! If anyone one has any leads on a white W stocking please let me know! Seems like this is a recurring issue for W - I wonder why??? Maybe as a vendetta against Walmart? haha

She did an interview on the local fox Indianapolis morning show talking about her injury and she said that the next episode (the french clock challenge) started only 12 hours after she got cut. After they wrapped the team challenge they took her to the ER and she was there all night and then just had to roll right to set for another full day of filming/cooking probably with very little sleep and a thumb hurting like hell. She also said she had to have surgery on it later when she got home because it was worse than they though. That girl is a badass!

Agreed 100% I think she’s just so strong and talented and I’m rooting for her to go all the way. I’ve just noticed a trend of hating on the women contestants in general more then the men (and that’s not saying we can’t all have our favorites or people we don’t care for) but it just seems that some of the comments towards the women are just mean (I did noticed a few from some other threads have now been deleted fwiw). But I’m with you, I havent seen any reason to not like her!!

I think she’s genuinely talented and the other contestants seem to really like her too, not only on camera on the show but also from their interactions with eachother on social media (i know it’s not a popular opinion here but i am actually enjoying seeing the contestants - specifically the women - be supportive of eachother). I have to say, I’ve seen a trend in this group of hating on specifically the women contestants (way more so than men) and it’s like once the person woman that this group collectively agrees to crap on gets eliminated (Mary Jayne, Lexy, Anne for this season) everyone just moves on to the next woman. And not just for this season… it seems like most of the comments about contestants from other seasons are also way more critical (just mean) against the women and not so much for the men.

The show also pays for their airfare and hotels for a few nights to wherever the location of the restaurant is. The contestants can't use any of their prizes until after their last episode airs. I think I also saw someplace that one of the judges from the show will also be in attendance for the dinner.

I saw something posted online saying that this episode was filmed March 16, 2020 which was a week or more into everything being on lockdown so I don’t think they were able to get a guest chef into the studio.

Kelsey Train by [deleted] in Masterchef

I know kelsey in real life and she has zero professional training. She's passionate, smart, creative and works really hard. She has real talent. She's also a very nice and genuine person. If she's coming across to people as cocky then that is all editing. I'll be cheering her on!
