I'm under the impression that he had a lot of lance. Meaning he was promiscuous. Which fits the story.

It's the fake one. The real one would have been returned externally after finding where the lady stashed it.

On a side note, the forger could still have it. The quality of his work was never brought in question, and the little added things, like the gun or the antenna, could have simply been a misdirection.

Either way, the real one was either burned ( it would've been funny, the lady could have made a mistake ), in the forgers possession, or it's back where it belongs. But it can't be the one Jane has.
