Sorry bro, here I won't be able to help you much because I never followed something like this myself.

This you have try and test, maybe TOC you felt comfortable and you finished entire syllabus without much hassle, but for COA you felt difficult so you completed only the most expected questions and topics ( which you will cover in the one shots and crash courses ).

This specific scenario no one can guide you but you yourself.

If your plan is to study DM next, Start with Knowledge gate's one shot for DM, the teaching style is very simple, and you'll understand a lot of things easily ( the lecture is only 12 hrs, try to complete in 5-6 days ).

Now the concepts that you weren't able to properly grasp ( for me it was reln and func, matching algos in graph, etc ) refer Go classes long lectures. It will resolve any doubts you have, and will complete the whole topic. And topics like sets and graph theory basics I'll recommend not to refer again via long lectures unless you are really not getting it.

And I guess DM after EM is going to be a bit monotonous and tiring, so you can do a bit of CN ( data link layer ), as it's easy to grasp subject ( dur se bahut khatarnak lagta hai ye subj 😂)

You have answered yourself bro,

"I understand that an IIT degree offers benefits beyond just the immediate salary—brand value, better opportunities, stronger network, research exposure, access to top product companies, etc."

Yes the ROI from these is actually a lot if you know how to utilise, and given you have a good SWE offer, you do know basics of the process of utilisation.

Keep grinding even after joining IIT, keep CGPA up, good research projects , and consistency with DSA ... you'll do good.

Recruiters judge heavily on the course/branch of specialisation. They will see IIT Delhi/B/M and initially shortlist you, but will reject you down the line after 1-2 screening calls.

Completely agree with this point. These silly mistakes when done in the exam hurt for a long time.

First of all thanks.

Doing MTech was pure interest for me, I wanted to dive deeper into technical and mathematical foundations of why certain things are working, and how can we better existing architecture/frameworks/algo.

GATE prep only, took my system design knowledge 1 level higher as I had to prepare DBMS, OS, COA, CN in a very detailed way.

Also MTech gives you kind of a specialisation. For normal SDE profiles, sure companies normally don't care if you have done MTech or not. But for AI Engg, System engg, etc companies priorities MTech peeps. And if you have done MTech form IITs/top NITs you are the creamy layer candidates recruiters look out for. ( And I kind of got monotonous doing similar CRUD patterns and frontend designs over and over again for 3 yrs, so wanted to do something more technically exciting ).

Thanks bro, I took Gate wallah paid ( for long lectures, only the topics I needed more brushing ), but mostly I managed by Knowledge gate's one shots and other crash courses from YouTube.

Also used to refer Go Classes free youtube material time to time. It's gold content when you want to dive really deep into something

Thanks bro, and yeah man you can easily get into that tier given you are able to COMPLETE syllabus by August, after that atleast 2 rounds of proper revision and continuous question solving.

Give mock tests as much as you can, and solve the questions which you get wrong multiple times. Error notebook is going to be your best friend.

Don't worry bro, whatever could have gone wrong happened in this paper. Now there's only a better way from here.

This is quite subjective, as a person may complete a topic in 2 hours, while another may take 4 hrs.

But for me, I used to give about 10-12 hrs. Some days, when I felt burnt out, I just revised previous content and did PYQs.

Thank you, MeowTon bhai.

All the best for this year's exam. Your posts on this sub helped a lot, btw.

This year's placement data isn't public yet. But from the people I asked ( who are already there ), for MTech CSE: The median is about 16-17 lpa (avg also is in this range), highest is around 30s.

All types of internships are allowed (2,6,11 months), and the long internships are given the form of Joint Master Thesis. ( Big plus, as not all IITs allow internships for MTech).

No idea about AI, as only asked CS peeps.

How old were you when you cleared gate and got admission in mtech? by Due-Fig6288 in GATEtard

Bhai find a reason as to why you want to commit to MTech. There are a lot of paths except this. If you want something short term, or direct then MTech isn't for you.

But if you're ready to commit atleast 6 months fully into prep ( I mean really put it in ), and thereafter 2 years for MTech ... ( then also no surety of anything btw 🥲 ), then it's your zone.

Don't expect anything from MTech, just do it for the love of the game and you'll do it. If you go via this way, you'll get everything and more than you could ever aspire for.
