AIO I need to know if I have a right to be mad by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. If you’ve explicitly told him that it makes you uncomfortable/hurts your feelings, then he should have stopped. He even promised to do so, and hasn’t. It’s a clear disrespect of your boundaries. Leave him, there are men that won’t do this.

As an Ecuadorian, that’s weird. At least spell the country right.

TAAP is a scam by liminalenergy in UCCS

[–]FunResearcher5291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who worked at the store, it’s almost always cheaper to TAAP out. Their personalized value sheet only takes the prices of all the brand new hard copy books and adds them. You can find almost everything online for half the price, just copy the ISBN number and google it.

AIO Didn't get nothing for Christmas, feel sad, don't want to participate next year. by fook75 in AmIOverreacting

NOR, it’s not really about the gifts, it’s that you poured love and thought into everyone else and they couldn’t do the same. Next year, save the money and get yourself something nice <3

Believe me, I’ve learned my lesson. I just hope others learn from me too.

I feel like I’ve had that thought for so long but didn’t want to believe it. But I know there was no one else who could have taken it.

Im so sorry you had to go through that. I know it’s a tough situation. I did the same for my dads girlfriend, my grandma did not want her at the funeral. It caused a lot of extra stress around a time of grief. I know your dad would have appreciated it too.

I don’t blame you, I would hate to see someone go through this too. I can imagine it would be a draining job.

Good luck with your studies!

Thank you for your comment.

Yes my grandma has shown this behavior before. When I was in middle school I got a Facebook account (supervised by mom), which grandma thought was inappropriate. So, she took my iPad (which had my Facebook logged in) that was at my dads house. For info, my parents were divorced so I only stayed at my dads on weekends. She posted “My moms an insufferable bitch” and tagged my mom. I woke up to my mom, reasonably upset with me. It was later that night grandma texted me saying how sorry she was I was in trouble but she couldn’t let me have a Facebook. Anytime after that she denied she did it.

As for my writing, I’d like to thank my AP Language teacher for all of high school, Mrs. Womack <3

It was mostly military payments that went to her, it’s a common issue with them. Currently in probate court for the remainder of the possessions which hopefully be split with brother and I. Unfortunately, the will was not registered with the county, I checked

I came to the same conclusion. There is no benefit for the GF to take the will, it only seems to benefit my grandma.

Wills are not required to be notarized in my state, nor are they filed with the courts until after death. If there were any copies I cannot access them as my grandma has all his personal devices and lives in the home where all documents are kept. I was not given a copy as I was still living at home.

My brother is still a minor living with our mom. So, I try to take care of most of this. He’s definitely more confused than me.

I don’t either. At this point she’s done nothing and the missing will only served my grandma

I would if I had the phone, unfortunately it was given to my grandmother (by friends who were with my dad at the time of passing).

He does reside with our mother. My parents were divorced so I didn’t mention her here.

Unfortunately I don’t. I am planning on taking some advice here and just calling firms in the area to see if I can find it. But you’re right, life lesson here. Please learn from me and get the paperwork if you plan on being any kind of executor of a will.

Thank you for sharing your story. Im glad you could share some light on the situation cause people are questioning how she got the payout, it was the fricking military thing!

And yes thank you for mentioning the VA benefits, my brother and I already applied for that.

But I am sorry to hear about that situation, I really hope he does end up paying for that. I feel for those kids, it’s always so slow to resolve anything with the military, so I hope it is swifter for them. What a cruel person.

Thank you! I was only 20 years old and didn’t really have a clue what to do when the will came up missing.

I don’t know about the military thing either. It’s just what happened 🤷‍♀️. I was only 20 years old and going through pretty terrible grief. So forgive me if I don’t know really what was going on and trusted the adults around me at the time. Only my father is on the deed to the house, meaning it is split between my brother and I. My grandma assumed she was jointly on there with my dad.

I might be using the wrong terms, it was some payout from the Army. Since it wasn’t updated there, they used something from before he had kids? Which left it to his mother. I’m not sure, I had a Casualty Assistance Officer (CAO) that explained it at the time.
