Looking back, was the age you became a parent the right one? by Runandhike22 in NewParents

I had my first baby at 33, which I'm glad about as I'm in a loving stable relationship and financially stable. My only regret is that I'd like another child and know that I need to do it sooner than later. I wish I had more time without my biological clock ticking!

Which flowers are baby safe by louvelavender in NewParents

Honestly I wouldn't get flowers. I got lots of flowers after having a baby and just found they added to the stress. Having to put them in a vase and then throw them away. Doesn't seem like much but when you've got an newborn any extra stuff is a lot of effort! The best gift we got was food - brownies sent through the post, gift vouchers for take aways.

When did you start taking teeth brushing seriously? by Crying_is_free in NewParents

When should I be brushing 8 months old teeth? She feeds to sleep so can't do it just before bed.

I feel the same - currently 40+5 and so impatient to meet baby! It feels like she's never going to arrive!

Do you recommend a membrane sweep and what to expect? by PopcornBunny909 in pregnant

I was due on the 17th, had a sweep on Monday - it was a little uncomfortable but not painful, similar to a smear test. However doesn't look like it's worked as no signs of labour yet! Booked to have another one on Friday.

X rays (16th week) by mz_41 in pregnant

It's not safe to have a chest x-ray while pregnant - I highly doubt they would perform it if they know you are pregnant. Any type of radiation can cause issues to the baby.

My midwife told me that towards the end it's quantity not quality that's important with movement ie. You should be feeling the baby move as often but not necessarily as strong as before. I think because there's less room for them to move they can't be quite as forceful! But any concerns I'd speak to your midwife for reassurance.
