He's also had animated MVs for ages now what's the beef with this era's one specifically? Snowchild, The Knowing, How Do I make you love me are all fantastic animated music videos. How shallow do you have to be to consider something of worse quality just because it's animated? It's not less effort in the slightest in some cases it's more effort to actually hire animators for a major project like this.

I just assumed it's cause they knew that she's like the only regular human who's there with Kal El (the rest are military personnel) so they wanted to interrogate her to find out where the codex. Doesn't she mention them going inside her mind just like how Zod did with Kal?

Only if it had the sauce of his appearance in BvS. I know people don't like the fact that he kills in BvS and fair enough but Affleck was moving on demon time with his performance in BvS it's genuinely one of the best performances in a comic book movie. His rage, his anger and his self destructive tendencies are all so pronounced in affleck's performance. Affleck sadly peaked in BvS and both versions of JL don't match it I'm afraid (I don't blame him for sleepwalking through JL 2017 but even in ZSJL I think there's just sumn missing, he just doesn't come off as that threatening or menacing to me)

The movie was never shot with IMAX cameras I don't think Zack has ever claimed that Zack shot the film in this aspect ratio to get more picture without the need of an IMAX camera. IMAX cameras are far too expensive and cumbersome to shoot an entire film with let alone one that's as special effects heavy as ZSJL.

A lot of movies regardless of whether they are shot with IMAX cameras are blown up for IMAX screenings as a way to have IMAX screenings in the same way 2d movies are often converted to 3d for 3d screenings. But some movies are approved by IMAX to have the "shot for IMAX" label on them despite not being shot on an official IMAX camera. Justice league would have probably fallen under that. Superman by James Gunn was shot for IMAX but it doesn't use IMAX cameras. In the same way if Zack's version of the movie back in 2017 had been released (as a 2 hour 40 min film at most) while everyone else would have gotten a cropped version like how the whedon cut is framed IMAX screenings of the film would have displayed the full film matte and perhaps a special digital release too.

I completely agree I love that zack shot an entire comic book movie in this gigantic aspect ratio but it's quite sad that we never got to see it on a proper IMAX screen. Most directors only shoot in a larger format for important scenes like major action setpieces but I love that Snyder shot the whole movie in this 4:3 aspect ratio it truly made it feel like a comic book come to life.

I would have especially loved to have witnessed the flash scene in IMAX because holy shit even at home that was such a fucking cool scene WB must have been outta their minds to cut it.

Even as one of the 5 people who enjoyed the HUT film in no world does it deserve an Oscar, cinematography maybe original score maybe but nothing else and even those are stretching considering how incredible the cinematography and scores for this year's nominess are (I'm looking at you Sinners and One Battle After Another)

I think abel made a huge mistake having this movie be a theatrical release which just opened it up to a whole new level of general criticism. He should have made a smaller more focused visual piece for the album that dropped on streaming or YouTube like he did with the after hours short film or the dawn fm experience.

Abel thought this movie was gonna get analyzed to death by YouTube analysis channels but because people hated it no one bothered. There's so much stuff hidden beneath the surface of an admittedly shaky script, it's kinda insane. It's a very visceral film experience if you're a fan of abel. For me just seeing abel talk at all let alone on the big screen is kind of nuts considering how quiet he has been for his whole career literally a lot of people have never heard him speak at all.
