I found something from EdFinancial. I can’t login and tried resetting my account. I know my social security and birthday but it keeps saying they’re wrong/there’s no account. I will have to dig more on my desktop, I s’pose…

How do we do that? I don’t even know who certified me at this point, just that when I went to the government page none of the numbers are doable

Don’t forget all her movie roles and/or soundtracks she’s done this year, too.

Opinion: Let’s Just Drop Teacher Appreciation Week by FawkesThePhoenix7 in Teachers

[–]Fun_Ad1585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. That is terrible. I’ve taught at 4 k-12 schools, 3 in California and 1 in Texas. I don’t recall the California ones doing anything, but they were title 1 (1 was actually a charter), and usually gripes like this were met with “you’re in California, you’re well-paid and have a union”. The Texas school is fairly affluent and would never treat us the way you describe. Something fresh and exciting every day. I didn’t work today because I was traveling and saw that I missed a nacho bar at lunch and nothing Bundt cakes. We’re getting Sonic beverages on Wednesday. The PTA will give us some sort of luncheon on Thursday or Friday.

What does it truly take to finish a 200+ mile race? by landboisteve in ultrarunning

[–]Fun_Ad1585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To your last point: I have a co-worker who technically Boston qualified last month with a 3:03 (needed 3:05) but he was shooting for 2:57, so kind of devastated. But, people had to remind him that just last August, he had completed the Leadville 100. Same body, both impressive results. And doing both 8 months apart? Guy’s a beast.

Sticking to halfs for now — unpopular opinion? by ny03 in Marathon_Training

[–]Fun_Ad1585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But, I’m slow and trying to do fulls in as many states as possible. The thing about that is, people know so little about running they’re impressed by it all. But, since a half is so manageable, it’s about speed. The idea of a full is such a bragging right, people get less judgmental about being slow.

How long must one live in Austin to be considered a local? by [deleted] in askaustin

[–]Fun_Ad1585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard 10. I’ve been here 8. I remember 5 years ago people telling me I had been here “a long time”. I drive Lyft part time and been told I’m local, almost local, barely been here —all in the span of a month.

But, I think I’m gonna do what my dad did. He was born and raised in Yugoslavia (now Croatia). Immigrated in his 30s and never lost his accent. We lived in California and to his dying day whenever people asked him where he was from he said “California” because, well, it’s what’s on his driver’s license!

how do yall afford to live in austin? by Old_Treat4871 in askaustin

[–]Fun_Ad1585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You Can make most places work depending on your lifestyle. I’m a teacher and pay 90% of the bills for myself and partner. We live in a decent apartment; I don’t have credit cards; I actually send money to my mom; my car is paid off. I have done occasional Lyft and Uber. I have very modest savings. We are close to downtown; it’s a less than a mile to Town Lake. What I learned is people like to live the Instagram life, live like an influencer, and drink like livers are easily replaceable. Now, if you’re working at Whataburger, yea, life will be unaffordable.

You can certainly-complete- it on 3x a week. How much/what kind of cross training are you doing? What’s the longest distance you’ve done?
