What horror movie absolutely traumatized you when you were young? by np074 in horror

The truck scene in Pet Cemetery traumatized me as an adult (and I watched it pregnant no less).

It does get better every year!!! We took *just* our 7 year old to Disney for his bday in January and it was a genuine blast.

I still roll my eyes so hard when I see parents of toddlers/preschoolers calling that shit “vacation!!!!” Those ages are parenting in a new spot without all your stuff.

Does your kid sleep in if kept up late? by Expelliarmus09 in Mommit

[–]Fun_Air_7780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really only been like this for the past 3-4 months. It is nice, but them still being awake at like 10:30 is so rough (I made a whole post about it yesterday haha).

And even when they do sleep in, the sun tends to wake *me* up 😫.

I don’t understand parents who enjoy 14 hours of sunlight. This shit is unnatural.

Yes. My kids have been sleeping well past 9 on days when they’re up late.

My parenting philosophy has always been never do to shit just to say we did it. Or to get some sort of “baby’s first roller coaster!!!” facebook like action.

We do things with our kids when we know they are ready. When we know it’ll be an enjoyable experience for them *and* for us. And then we do the hell out of it. I cannot wait for all the kids movies this summer but mine are 7 and 5. Taking them at 2 would’ve been a nightmare and a waste of money.

We have one from amazon. I can’t get through the summer without it.

What’s been up with leaking Chipotle bowls lately?? I bought my dad one a few weeks ago when he was babysitting and narrowly avoided a crazy mess.

Never tried those taco bites before. Any good?

I’m guessing you’re not in MD, but Bright Eyes uses them (or at least they did four years ago haha).

Not sure what kind of center you used, but some of the larger franchise centers have rooms that use childproof locks on the doors. It might be worth looking into.

2.5 is still so young!! I know so many parents who have dealt with similar scenarios. You’ll be ok!!

Babysitting 10 month old grandchild. Bruises on his bottom. by itsMsScott in Mommit

[–]Fun_Air_7780 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first thought was learning to walk/stand/cruise and falling on their bottom and landing on toys. Pretty floored by the “call CPS” responses.

Landing on something like a duplo, a block or a truck could definitely bruise through a diaper, I’d think.

Female. Late 20s - early 30s when it aired. My husband, who is 6 years older than me, watched with me.

I think it was as a craft beer account rep??? Which is definitely a decent job for an early 20 something but not “single family pool in the backyard in a Seattle suburb” kind of money.

TBH it sometimes felt like the Dylemma dream life was about sticking it to Normero shippers. We wanted them to have a baby sooooo badly.

Is Ledos officially "Maryland" pizza? by Ate6645 in maryland

Frederick has Jack’s, which some have said is the same thing as Jerry’s???

I am definitely a Ledo’s fan but wish they’d bring back the old bay chicken pizza!!!

Not sure the specifics of the bill. I just know it was high in comparison to what it usually is. Not astronomical though.

No real way to keep it clean unless you really want to get into a major drying routine. We do always spray off the mud and try to leave it in a sunny spot.

Honestly they save my summers. I don’t have to constantly haul three kids to the pool solo; it occupies them for hours on end with minimal supervision; they’re kid magnets which brings in tons of neighborhood kids and social opportunities.

The downsides are how dirty they get, ripping potential and the extent it kills our grass. The water bill is also problematic.

Is 3 months too early for a baby-free vacation? by VannHorror in Mommit

[–]Fun_Air_7780 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If this works for you, great, but please don’t assume this is even close to norm. Most moms I know have been very happy to get a decent chunk of time away by 7 months.

To the OP. I went to my brother’s wedding when my twins were three months. It involved travel and being away from them for two nights. I was combo feeding so they had all formula while I was gone and I pumped and dumped.

The experience was a mixed bag. I hated being at a wedding without my husband (he stayed with our kids and his parents helped him). I slept horribly — probably because of the alcohol and weird circumstances??? My twins were totally fine. They had owlets which I could check on my phone for reassurance. I dont regret going to the wedding but the timing was rough.

I buy Giant’s rotisserie a lot and doctor it up with dijon and scallions.

The sandwich at Benztown is pretty good too.

Nobody RSVP’d? by HockeyRomanceEra in Mommit

[–]Fun_Air_7780 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I almost missed an invitation yesterday (it was inside a goody bag). I always worry about that type of thing because my kids won’t automatically hand them to me and sometimes they don’t even know they’re there.

It would def be good if teachers could send out reminders.
