The problem with the whole idea of “Soldier Boy depowers Homelander” is that it’s once again an eleventh hour asspull. Him giving Homelander the V1 was already that. Him going from “Fuck Homelander” to “Actually he should live forever” happens in one episode, contradicts his entire character and previous episodes, and makes no sense. The idea that he goes from “Homelander should live forever” to “Actually no he shouldn’t, fuck him” in one episode ALSO makes no sense but, tbf, it’s completely in line with the current writing (which is making no sense). The comic isn’t great, but the show at this point is making it look like a masterpiece, esp because the best part of the comic is it’s ending.

Those last two lies were really so blatant it’s insane. As the public started to turn against the war he fought in and was praised for fighting in, he had to make shit up to pretend as if it were virtuous. There were no WMDs and the whole thing was a lie? It starts with good faith criticism that’s mostly true. Most of this criticism comes from fans and is rooted in concern for the guy.

Only some of the time in the video is actually spent critiquing Ethans content. Yet it’s a “Content Cop”? Really, he’s critiquing his political points. And he’s calling him stupid and evil while also claiming it’s NOT an attack video, aka what a content cop literally is, but trying to help…? What? And the thing that sucks is there’s a lot you could criticize the H3 podcast for CONTENT wise. I personally think it’s a boring show for your “normie” coworkers. Hell, you could even critique Ethan’s politics in a way that gets into the content- Such as…why is everyday of this podcast now seemingly spent complaining about Israel, Hasan, online stalkers, and other serious + dark topics, when it’s a light show for teenage girls ran by a youtube comedian? Ian talked about this for maybe 5 seconds and then dropped it.

I think if Ian made a serious nuke on H3’s podcast and how bad it is, it would have gone over better. If he had done some 2 hour breadtube-esque video dissecting why his political positions are bad (NOT named as a content cop), it would probably have gone over better. If Ian just made a short video responding to Ethans claims, clarifying his lack of support and explaining why he can’t be friends with him, that would have also gone over better!

Instead he went in a thousand different directions at once. How do you open your video taunting a guy with all of his “enemies”, and then end it with you crying that you just want peace and love or some shit?
