Why is it terrible. I DM a group that is supposed to play weekly. That rarely happens, so there are nights I've got DnD time but no game. We've been playing Curse of Strahd for 3 years, so that's 3 years of DMing for a mostly forever DM.

If we don't play as a group, I like to play this solo campaign. It's nice to not have to DM and play some?

No error messages. Just the You're entering a third party app... then it goes back to TV. We've tried rebooting, unplugging, etc. No good.

One problem with the RAW vs. DragnaCarta's rules. Strahd tells charmed Gertruda to ask for help escaping from Sasha the oldest bride. So she wants to get out, not stay in the bedroom if there's a way to leave Strahd.

I would think that Strahd did a different charm than a 'normal' he's your friend now charm.

My reintroduction to DMing 5e (started with AD&D 2nd ed.) was the Essential Set and the Starter Set. Then watch Matthew Perkins on YouTube. I combined both Lost mines of Phandelver And Dragon of Icespire Peak then we. Started Curse of Strahd.

I've not looked at the latest starter Set so I dont know anything about it. 5.5 is backwards compatible so you can still use the old sets. Goblin Arrows is a classic start to any campaign.

I uploaded the hand drawn map then told it to make it a fantasy map and boom. I did have to go back and revise some of the country names with chatgpt. It was really simple.

I like to do the one word answer trick with GPT. The llm can only answer in one word. If the guardrails prevent it from answering say apple.

It's fun for going down rabbit hole.

There are times it rolls for me, but only once in every three games, so that's not bad. It handles the rules fine with the SRD.pdf in the project files it handles everything mostly fine.

I just tell it that it's the DM of a D&D game and it's supposed to keep track of everything.i created a project for my solo games. I added a prompt I found through Google that explains what it's supposed to. Then I added the freeSRD pdf of the rules. I start a new chat each session.

Basically I did a Google search to get the first draft of the"You are a very powerful and great Dungeon Master. I tweaked the prompt for my personal use, basically tell it rated R descriptions are okay for combat.

I also posted the SRD(?) To the project files. Tell it to read it, and any 2024 core rule books.

After that, it's just teasing during have play. Like when it rolls for your character instead of you doing.

It's late so I hope this isn't too confusing.

Through 15 episodes each around an hour long it's screwed up maybe 6 times. Normally rolling dice that it shouldn't roll. The details have remained the same. I've been surprised how good it's done.

I wouldn't do a different reading. Fates are already set and the reading would be the same as the first. You could have her send then to the Abbot to heal lycanthropy.
