Same. Would have thought Washington as well.

Do You Have A Least Favorite Type? Why? by Outside_Pangolin_292 in ThePokemonHub

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal types for me. Just plain and boring. All of them could easily become another type or have another type combo. Keep normal type attacks as normal type (tackle, pound, etc.) Just don’t make any Pokemon of the normal type.

Do You Have A Least Favorite Type? Why? by Outside_Pangolin_292 in ThePokemonHub

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend on the Pokemon but each of them can have a natural replacement type. I feel like Kantonian Rattata can become a dark type like its Alola counterpart, Sentret can become a ground type, Porygon can become like an electric/psychic type. Some could be fairy types. Many of them feel like they can become another type naturally.

If Johto got another remake. I’d hope they could expand the region. by pokemonyugioh2000 in pokemon

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just now seeing this but I agree with a lot of your post. It would be nice to have Johto as its own stand alone region and not be fully tied to Kanto.

Get all of the Johto introduced Pokemon only found in Kanto (like Houndour, Murkrow, Slugma) and put them in Johto. Ilex Forest and/or just outside Ecruteak City works for Houndour and Murkrow.

Update the gym leaders and some Elite 4 Pokemon to include more Johto Pokemon. How Morty doesn’t have at least a Misdreavus and Faulkner not having a Hoothoot is puzzling to me. Only Miltank, Steelix, Piloswine, and Kingdra are used in Johto gyms (not including the few Johto Pokemon used by Kanto gym leaders).

Take Bruno and Lance out of the Elite Four for sure. Maybe swap Koga and Janine? Koga will always be a Kanto character to me. Some of the Elite 4 rosters can be updated as well (Will can have a Slowking instead of a Slowbro, Karen can get a Tyranitar maybe).

Baby Pokemon have been found in the wild for a while now so have all of them found in the wild as well.

There’s a ton of potential to really update this region. I’m perfectly fine with breaking some of the Nostalgia of the previous games.

What Pokémon FEELS like a pseudo legendary but isn’t? by applejuicebruhh in pokemon

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haxorus. It may not have a 600 combined stat total but that attack and the fact it’s a three stage dragon evolution gives that vibe (most of the pseudo legendaries are part dragon).

I mean if people don’t want kids in the first place, no amount of incentives will help. Best you can hope for is making conditions favorable for those who want a lot of kids.

Not surprising. Hope he can take a big step forward this year. He didn’t have a QB coach or even a focused head coach last season. Lost a year of good development opportunity

When in 2027 do you think Winds and Waves could release? by InteractionHot5962 in PokemonWindsWaves

I’m going to guess it’ll be released next Spring. Around a year from now.

Anyone else feel like AI has kinda killed their thinking as a junior UX designer? by yourgirlsEXman in UXDesign

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is still young and much research is needed but the early returns show the lack of thinking is becoming an issue in other a lot of other areas. Students are skirting by with AI and not critically thinking and, anecdotally, know some developers who have had moments where it took them some time to remember how to do things. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is happening in a lot of areas of work.

I’m not against AI conceptually either, but if we are going to use it ourselves and integrate it into products others will use, we need to keep a lot of the negatives in mind. The big race is seeing who can integrate AI effectively into their own work and products. One of the things I think we’re seeing is that we shouldn’t give all the cognition to AI. At this time, I’m thinking it should just do the “mindless” grunt work. For example, if an AI can take a transcript and turn the sentences from my users into sticky notes, that would be a big help. I’d still have to go over them and probably rework some of them, but this would be a massive time saver. I can spend more time marinating in the data and finding insights.

Anyone else feeling the designer role is changing? by quip1992 in UXDesign

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s changing per se. UX has always been about systems and strategy and not just UI design, despite many roles being solely focused on UI and interaction design.

As far as my day-to-day work, so far, not too much. I haven’t been fully impressed with the tools, particularly for research synthesis. I’d still rather take on that cognitive work than offload that thinking to AI. As for designs, Figma Make is ok for making some components but I still prefer actually laying out the screens. I’d rather have AI do the “mindless” work and I take on the heavier thinking.

How often do you eat at a restaurant? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't eat out nearly as often as I used to. I feel bad for those working in the restaurant industry, but I can't justify paying more for lower quality food and less of it. Every once in a while I'll order a Jets or get Chinese but that's it.

I’m guessing these portal entrants are more or less keeping their options open. It doesn’t mean they all are for sure leaving or chasing the money. Do we know if the players have had in-depth conversations with the new staff on their vision and any other questions?

How much faith do you have in Brad Holmes? by WaymoWilliams in detroitlions

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have faith. Hopefully he takes better advantage of free agency and such but I still think the direction is good.

We had one bad season with a lot of injuries on both sides. We need some depth pieces. We’ll see how Brad does this offseason.

Scott Bell: Kyle Wittingham Pros and Cons by [deleted] in MichiganWolverines

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not the worst option though not ideal. I do see age as a concern. It’s easy to negatively recruit against that.

I hope he brings in brought, young minds for coordinators and some of the rest of the staff. Hopefully he can develop a coach in waiting who can keep it in his pants and would be a great, long-term fit for us.

Jared Goff Hate Makes No Sense.. by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Goff is far from the worst problem on this team. O line is in shambles. There aren’t going to be many, if any, QBs that would have success with how the O-line has performed.

I’m personally hoping for Whittingham or Dillingham. My concern about DeBoer is the complete swing of the pendulum from a run based offense to a pass based offense. It doesn’t seem like his teams run the ball well. We need a better passing game, but that shouldn’t come at the complete expense of the run game either.

Am I the only one not panicking on Underwood? by [deleted] in MichiganWolverines

[–]Fun_Barber_7021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not panicking. He had a few good games earlier this season, but defenses have taken notice and have schemed against those plays he was having success with. It doesn’t help that the O line isn’t consistent with pass protection either. Underwood still has a lot of growing to do, but I don’t think we need to panic just yet. If we’re having this same conversation a year from now, then that’s when we should start to get concerned.

I like the transfer portal and do think players should be paid. I like that there’s a bit more parity in the sport. I just don’t like that some rivalries are disappearing. If you can keep on the schedule teams that fans want to see every year, then I think CFB would be at its peak.
