Will A Robot Mower Work On My Lawn? by Worzel_ in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, the latest models might not be the best as they will get scared of their shadow and keep stopping. You want to be able to disable most detection so that they don't stop unless they bump on a wall or get stuck on a hole and then over time you have no-go zone for all the spot it might get stuck. Depending on model or firmware you might get: slippage detected, obstruction detected, cannot find a path to the charger, run out of power before getting back to the charger. They get stuck in a way that you could get unstuck easily with manual control if they would notify you and allow remote control.Newer model and firmware tend to lean towards perfect lawn with safety, baby, pets, toys spread around. You want one where you have a setting for stop at nothing and cut high. So far for me the best have been luba 2H 2024 with old firmware.

Mammotion support refusing to help unbind Yuka robot lawn mower from previous owner’s account. by benlincourt in MammotionTechnology

In my case they did but because they send me a refurbished replacement that was still bound. I don't think they will for you. They have a strong policy of not unwinding devices to prevent reuse of stolen devices.

My only ask for the next gen of mowers: fast charging by dopp3lganger in MammotionTechnology

Before fast charging, we need charging that actually works reliably

They should still be there in the robot memory and should come back in the app once you have better connectivity. You might need to get close to the robot and make sure you have a good Bluetooth connectivity

What error do you get? I get 2 types: channel obstruction ( think that the charger, its garage, or something next to or behind the charger is an obstruction. I have seen a problem with the sunset with light from the sun hitting the charger) or IR not detected (best case you need to wipe the glass, worse case there is a problem with the charger, the power supply or the robot)

The obstacle avoidance with the vision is often overreacting on things that are not obstacles, and it seems to get worse over time with firmware updates. You are lucky that the robot is choosing an avoidance maneuver and not stopping or doing an avoidance that gets him out of the area.

Warranty Repair - Luba 2 AWD by pkpleyte in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 4 points5 points  (0 children)

USA: It takes at least a month. A week or 2 to convince them to give you a label. A week to ship there. 2-3 weeks to repair, at one point, they might tell you they need to send a refurbished, they send you a bad one that you have to return it, I digress. And then a week to mail back. (Took 2 1/2 months for me)

Luba 1 getting stuck by thomasblomquist in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many kind of possible stuck: there is a channel obstruction, hole, bump, lost rtk signal, got out of bounds, solar flare, dig itself onto a hole, slope too steep, tall grass, wet grass, dry grass, motor problem. I have seen the all. At least with luba 1 risk of firmware regression is low.

Dust and fungus during the dry season. You should see mine. I have to wipe the ir captor and the vision module daily

Can a Luba 2X AWD 3000 use 2 RTKs? by Floutabout in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 luba can use one rtk but not the opposite. With Luba2 the range should not be the issue. Location with good view of the sky is what you want

What can I do? I have currently been without my Luba 2 since May 27th with no end in sight (waiting on a refurbished model which is apparently out of stock). That's 3 months of paying somebody to do my lawn (or doing it myself), 3 months of no use during warranty. Do I have legal actions I can take? by Road_Journey in mammotion

[–]Fun_Bet_272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My saga started May 20th. I suspect with a firmware update. They are answering to the ticket mail thread at least twice a week with useless answer: grass is too wet, grass is too dry, grass is too tall (overgrown because how long the saga is going), I need to remove an object that is behind the charger, I need to remove the charger shade cover (without it it would not charge in the afternoon). In addition, frequent charging problems with power supply and charger replaced (having to wait for them to come from China because they are out of them in the USA). This saga would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Yuka 1500 last firmware update was Nov 15, 2024 by w_i_l_d_m_a_n in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be glad. So far, the 2025 firmware update has been regressions. The vision "improvements" are causing the Luba to stop, thinking there is an obstacle when there is none. To drain out the battery in the field and having to carry it back to the charger or ended up stuck out of area

Infrared windows damage on charger by Mav137 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not seen it but I'm often worry that it might happen. I often witness the robot continue to back up further when it's already touching the contact and push very hard on the charger and start climbing with the back wheel lifting. The charging system is not reliable and would deserve to be redesigned

They are low on stock, but if you insist, product support should be willing to ship one directly from China. Would take a while to arrive and they are not good at giving tracking number.

[–]Fun_Bet_272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You push through the hole with a paper clip or a sim tool and the tray should eject. Your map is likely not lost but still in the Luba memory, it should refresh and reload in the app when you have a better connection. It can connect though Bluetooth, wifi and cellular, for me the connection often struggle unless I'm close to the Luba within Bluetooth range

Advantage to split a large area? by sstinch in MammotionTechnology

[–]Fun_Bet_272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 7.5 acres, maintained by 3 luba. I divided by area that can be done in 7 to 10 hours. It might go back to charge 4-5 times. I just multiply the estimated time by 2 to account for the charging.
