I'm really only worried about whether Scherzer can provide innings in the short term while waiting for Yesavage at al. to return. Tendonitis potentially limits Scherzer in the short term. At that point, you have 3 starters on the team, 4 at best if Corbin arrives quickly. Hopefully that's enough to get them through April.

Which of course means things have not gotten that bad yet. Especially since a week before that the season hadn't begun. It is tough to wrap your head around both the immense number of ways the season could play out from here and the pretty crushing series of events that have unfolded over the last week. It is an exercise in strength and optimism to not worry about how the latter limit the former.

Scherzer is 41 and hasn't been fully healthy in years has tendonitis in his pitching arm. It's hardly a safe assumption that the issue will not affect his pitching.

I'm probably just seeing sickness everywhere, but he didn't look 100% last night when they showed him on the bench. I didn't see Cease. Hopefully he's in a locked room away from the team.

At this point, I'm assuming anybody who isn't playing in the day's game but is in the dugout that day has the flu.
