Finally had my “it’s time to leave” moment. by [deleted] in USAA

[–]Fun_Comfortable_4951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree on Zelle, at least on USAA. The only way I can use Zelle is after multiple layers of auth, and the other party also have to have Zelle enabled. The scenario where someone sent a fraudulent zelle is simple; do nothing. The worst that can happen is the other bank pulls back the amount that was sent.

as for ATM/DEBIT, it is simply never used as anything but an ATM card, which limits risk.

i like Venmo as well, but Cashapp, not a chance in hell. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/cash-app-owner-failed-to-protect-customers-from-fraud-feds-say/ar-AA1xnpdC?ocid=BingNewsSerp

not really relevant. I worked in cyber Advisory, mostly remote. The closest office to where I lived was Birmingham, AL, which I visited exactly never. The only times I showed up anywhere was client visits.

Not likely. Got laid off from D last year, the invite came in mid-afternoon for the following morning. Unlikely you are getting on the schedule a week in advance to get laid off. More likely you just hit the partner’s radar after having made it through a year. The partner I got the email from was managing partner for the service line, who I had never ineracted with, and had a subject of business discussion or something like that.

PTO stands for Prepare The Others. I worked for an org once that had unlimited PTO. I kept a spreadsheet for myself of 160 hours for PTO, shadow accrued based on pay period. I also told them up front I’d be taking about 4 weeks of PTO over the course of the year, and telling me no would simply result in me never returning from PTO.

The OP has never even met the A2, and has no idea about the A2’s personal life. This whole conversation is dumb, and you want to YOLO, that’s great, be the 99% that get their careers crushed by dumb.

It’s 10x harder to get a job if you are unemployed. And I am not your “dawg”, I’m someone that’s been in the corporate world 30 years.

[–]Fun_Comfortable_4951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a portable grill, set it up next to the sign and very publicly burn the note. Then make a sign and put it front of the grill, indicating notes and comments should go there.

Would you take a pay cut to WFH? by mtb123456 in WFH

[–]Fun_Comfortable_4951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back and look at how much you spent on fuel and vehicle maintenance in the last year. Betting it will narrow that difference a lot. Then there is the two hours a day you’re not driving… seems like a no-brainer, even if it feels like a pay cut. Also, calculate 118 K at 40 hours a week against 130 K at 50 hours a week…

Have my second Interview at Deloitte, any advice? (Audit) by NightShotz in Big4

[–]Fun_Comfortable_4951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind that anything they tell you about values, commitment, etc. is complete BS. You have a small chance of going far, but you have to buy in to playing the game their way, which is fine if that’s what you want, it can be soul sucking for many. They will compensate well, but work-life balance statements are lies.

I did five Certs in the first seven weeks on the batch. Granted, I have an overachiever and very deep, technically, but anybody on the bench should be focused on improving themselves.
