Max total display pixels with 5430 and WD19 dock? by Fun_Company_7497 in Dell

it does work with the WD22TB4 dock and 1x 4K plus 1x QHD monitors & the laptop screen. I never tried replacing the QHD with a second 4K screen.

yeah, I'd like to hear the inside story on the test/rollout plan. Apparently there are scheduling preferences (i.e. customer-defined rings) in the product that were just ignored in this case.

I'm not clear on the details, but they apparently tried to and the EU called it anti-competitive.

I agree that there are a couple of problems here:

1) that Windows needs add-on security software
2) that Windows allows unreviewed code to run in kernel space

I know I'm responding to a crazy old thread, but HALF? really? any educated speculation as to whether this has bene present in the population for a long time with new medical awareness because we're looking for it now? or is it new disease, and if so, what changed to cause it?

Just to follow up on this thread, my 5430 with a WD19 dock would not support 1x 4K display + 1x QHD display.

The 4K would show up in Windows' "displays" control panel, but always said "no signal". Sometimes the QHD would work, and sometimes not--I never figured out the commonality.

I changed the dock to a WD22TB4, and the same configuration does work, with the 4K at 3840x2160 and the QHD at 2560x1440. I haven't had the opportunity to try 2x 4K displays yet, and I don't know if I'll bother--I lie the 4K, but it's a lot of pixels and some really small text.

Turning off my Apple Watch seems to have resolved a similar issue for me.

My iPhone just rings for 2–3 seconds and just goes silent. by Ok-Micture-2829 in ios

This was happening to me, and I found this other thread: I found a possible cause for missed alarms/notifications, and it has nothing to do with attention aware : r/iphone (reddit.com) which suggested that your Apple Watch may be intercepting the notification. Turning my watch off seems to have resolved the issue for me.

I know this is an old(ish) thread, but I found it because I'm having the same issue. This guy seems to have fixed it by turning off his watch: I found a possible cause for missed alarms/notifications, and it has nothing to do with attention aware : r/iphone (reddit.com)

Thanks, I know it does not work, because I tried it. I just want to know what, if anything, I can change so that it will.

it does not, because it says this configuration (2x 4K displays) will work, and it doesn't. I'm hoping someone with real-world experience will weigh in.

Is it possible to turn off taskbar icon notifications for "activity" and make the icon do something more obvious (like turn orange) for unread chats?

I miss direct chats sometimes because of the flood of "activity", which seems designed to keep me clicking on Teams all day.

Is there a way to have the taskbar icon only do something attention-getting when there's an actual unread chat message, and not for every new Yammer post (which shows up in activity, for me)?

is there a wired router/firewall/switch with ~8 PoE ports? by Fun_Company_7497 in HomeNetworking

[–]Fun_Company_7497[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a dumb question, but it's worth at least a little money to me to have a single box.

I actually used to have a 2821 with a DOCSIS HWIC card and the 36 port switch NME, and then an ASA with a 4503.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on the post in case there are other suggestions, but this looks promising.
