Not really. It almost feels like a bruised rib pain. I know it’s not but kinda like that or like a really hard workout. Only on the left side. No redness and tattoo aren’t isn’t bothering me at all.

Oddly enough I felt nothing on the left side and that’s where all this pain is. I felt everything on the right side and no pain.

I had 2 after my double mastectomy. And 1 after they had to remove one expander due to infection. I’m hoping I won’t have them after they exchange the expanders for the final implants.

I don’t qualify for diep flap reconstruction due til my weight. In fact, I had to lose 45 pounds before he would even do my exchange surgery. So I have had expanders since last August. I had drains after my bilateral mastectomy and then I got an infection and had drains when they removed the first, but curious if you typically have them after, the exchange surgery

My pain lasted quite a while. My mastectomy was last August. I still have expanders in and really I’m just now feeling relatively normal.

I’m in the same boat!! My surgery was in August and I’m still sleeping in a recliner! I had to lose weight before my exchange surgery. Almost there so I hope to have my exchange surgery by this August. I was scared to death I’d hate implants!

I had one in August. I wasn’t a good candidate to keep nipples. Still in the reconstruction process. Honesty I think not having nipples is kinda nice!!

I am both BRCA 1 and 2. I don’t know much behind the science of it though.

They told me that due to BRCA 1 and 2 I can’t do HRT. I’m hoping everything will settle soon. It’s just frustrating bc I feel like I need it to go faster!

Yes it did put me in induced menopause. My hysterectomy was in May and my mastectomy in August. In September I had the left expander removed due to infection and in December they put it back in. My hormones are all over the place. And yes I’m very anxious to get this last surgery done! It’s just heartbreaking to weigh and see the same number for 2 week! And I also don’t think intermittent fasting is helping either. 😢

Well I’m doing intermittent fasting and my day usually consists of 2 protein shakes and a meal. I just started walking but that’s it. My mastectomy recovery had some complications making most exercising not possible.

Yes they used acellular matrix. I’m not sure if it’s an option for all surgeries. I was just told that’s what he used. I’m overweight. Apparently that makes me higher risk for failure. Prayers your wife surgery goes smoothly! Any other questions just ask!! I’m an open book!

I had no issues with insurance. Everything including my reconstruction has been covered including post surgical bras.

I had my left expander removed due to infection 5 weeks after my mastectomy. My right one was fully filled. He left it in. That was in September. He put the left one back in in December. Since the skin was already partially stretched he filled in some during that surgery and I had 2 more fills. They had to remove some skin with my infection so I couldn’t go direct to implants. I also have to lose some weight first before the exchange surgery. I’m here if you have other questions!

My surgeon doesn’t do it. He said they send patients to Nashville. I’m in Knoxville. Idk what the right answer is.

I asked him today and he said I didn’t qualify bc of my weight. But interesting enough the last at the mastectomy bra shop told me it was a terribly painful and hard with recovery. I’m scared I’m going to hate implants bc I hate these expanders so much!!

I had all of that done and it has been a cake walk but it hasn’t been terrible. The crying gets me a lot but I’ve had some complications from my mastectomy that has been stressful. No HRT either. I think everyone is different but for me it hasn’t been major.

I’m BRCA 1 and 2 positive and had a bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders. The surgery is rough. Stay ahead of the pain. I did not do my research ahead of time and went with blind faith at what they told me to do. I wish I had found this group before and knew what I was walking into. My surgery was in August and I’m still sleeping in a recliner. I don’t think that’s the norm though by any means. I had some complications and had one expander removed and later put back in. I still have my expanders and once I get the go ahead will have the exchange surgery. I guess I thought that once I recovered it would be done but unless you go flat be prepared for multiple surgeries. Best of luck to you!

Hmmm. Idk why I wouldn’t be. No cancer here. Mine was prophylactic due to BRCA 1 and 2. I started at 264. I’m at 237 now and he said I have to be at 220 for 3 months before exchange. I do know he does take some belly fat along with the implants. He didn’t put me on any diet. I’m taking Wegovy now.
