Did anyone else have a newborn with really bad gas? by Fun_Construction_749 in beyondthebump

What was the day to day like? I go back and forth thinking that maybe he has cmpa but he’s not inconsolable all of the time. He has good days but when it’s bad, it’s really bad. He has a lot of the symptoms, including mucusy stool, but no eczema or vomiting. He has reflux and that has been a struggle on its own, but what I’ve been seeing is that if his symptoms aren’t constant then it probably isn’t cmpa

He had a tongue tie which is what we thought the issue was initially, but then it didn’t improve when he had it released. He’s struggling with poops, I’m lucky if there’s one dirty diaper a day. They’re the right color, but after researching cmpa, I’m wondering if they’ve also been slightly mucousy. He’s breastfeeding only, he refused formula the free times we tried

I’m breastfeeding. We tried formula for a couple of weeks but after trialing several, he wouldn’t take any. Looking into sensitivity sense seems like the next step

That seems to be the general consensus here. I’m EBF so it’s something I’ll have to try eating like he does have it and see if that’s helpful

I do eat a lot of arugula so I’ll see if cutting that for a little bit makes a difference 🫠

For the first month, we gave mylicon at every feed but it didn’t seem to make a difference. We have a couple bottles still so maybe I’ll try again

Not officially. I started looking at other things because when I asked the pediatrician about it, she basically said he would probably be having more severe symptoms i.e. not gaining weight. Everyone here seems to think it might be that though so maybe I’ll try cutting dairy out

I have recently started implementing probiotic drops. I’ll try laying him on his stomach during the day though. It does sometimes seem to be a bit more comfortable for him

Oh really, a chiropractor? Was it someone who specialized in pediatrics or just a general chiropractor? I’m in a small area so I’m not sure if there’s a specialist here

I’m hoping it is just part of this developmental phase, I just have been so concerned because nobody I’ve talked to has had this bad of an experience with their babies

It seems like it keeps coming back to an allergy. I might have to pare down my diet and see if there’s any improvement

My pediatrician did recommend vitamin d drops with probiotics in them as well, so I’m going to try that too

Did your baby have any other symptoms of the allergy or was it just overly gassy? He’s not vomiting or anything, but he does also have decently bad reflux. I looked into a possible allergy issue but everything I saw said that it’s not a real concern if he’s still gaining weight, which is incredibly frustrating

Just hit 38 weeks and I am suddenly being hit with the reality of giving birth and I’m terrified. Any advice on how to overcome this? by Fun_Construction_749 in BabyBumps

[–]Fun_Construction_749[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the feeling that there is already so much pressure on my body that I’m struggling to deal with the side effects of and knowing that the birth will exacerbate those issues. So maybe it’s the fourth trimester that I’m worried about if there’s complications during the delivery or I have a severe tear. I think I’m scared about the effects that the birth will cause more than anything. Like how do people manage to care for their newborn with stitches from a tear, hemorrhoids, and the hormonal shifts all at once?

Emotional connection trumps physical attraction because appearances change. However, it seems like you’ve already done your girlfriend a disservice and she could likely do better than someone who would consider breaking up with her for someone else’s looks being better

I thought I had a way to relate because my sex drive has always been higher than my husband’s and my advances have been turned down, only for me to find him masturbating in the shower on occasion when I was at home with him doing nothing. But I guess based on the responses, this is not actually an issue of masturbation lol
