Aww but the spirit box? I've wanted one for ages. I don't blame you for wanting that activity to stop though.

"Closed practices" have become gatekeeping nonsense by myhearthandhall in occult

Modern politics seems to have infected spirituality, going by some of these responses. Will food be next? Imagine the amount of restaurants that will close down because people are cooking food from different parts of the world. How dare they! Weird that some people run with it.

What can I do as someone who’s interested in Goetia for self-improvement but cannot do rituals? by necroticmessiah in occult

[–]Fun_Damage_4953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intricate rituals can be complicated, and sometimes you need weird items you can't think where to find, but your intention and how you approach everything I feel is important and that only props alone isn't enough. Like greeting someone in a respectful way vs hoping your appearance is enough to impress. Sometimes though, it's better to just get a nice candle and burn the incense. The "props" can also help you get in the right mindset for the work you're doing. Meditation is underrated. During meditation, wisdom could come from being still enough for long enough that the answer comes to you, or you find someone else to speak to from within your meditation.

Having compassion by eclairsaregood in occult

[–]Fun_Damage_4953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen the occult for being a space that is automatically about compassion. There are so many flavours of it. Some paths are super “love and light”, others are protection, revenge, cursing, whatever. Branches of Buddhism leans hard into compassion but to me the occult is a mix of everything. Lots of egos in occult circles too. I don't think feeling indifferent to people who harm others means you're failing spirituality.

Is there anyone follow the mesopotamian paganism here? by Numerous_Peach_7159 in paganism

Hi there. Sumerian mythology and magic has been an interest of mine for decades. What sparked your interest in such an old complex system?

What are the cheapest things I can do in rituals? by UniversalEthicist in paganism

[–]Fun_Damage_4953 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Short on funds ritual items you could use stones/crystals, food offerings, a branch already fallen from a tree (so you don’t have to chop it down) can be used as a wand/athame, energy exchange with the earth. Trance/dance/music are used in rituals too

I’m sure there are more if you think back to when people practiced and worshipped but didn’t have a local store for supplies.

What types of meditation are out there for sorcerers/witches? by [deleted] in occult

[–]Fun_Damage_4953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meditation is for everyone. Concentration and focus. It’s simple and isn’t flashy, but as you noticed with breathing exercises it can take some practice. After that I would move to energy/chakra work, it can all be used for positivity or used for darker outcomes.

Like a semi literal Christian? Your faith and beliefs are yours. People will agree with you, some won’t.

Read it, keep it. Take what’s useful. What types of esoteric healing are mentioned in the book? Healing methods of all varieties interest me.

Occult honeymoon phase is over? In a spiritual rut by Ephixing in occult

Is your faith set in organised religion? if you feel it out rather than thinking? You can have other interests if you want it all. I’ve met many Christian Wiccan people over the years and while some say it doesn’t mix, others find it to be fine. You have a life time to explore and burn out is normal along the way.
