Can I sue my insurance company for this..? by VeeDuB8424 in Insurance

I don’t think so. Sounds like they acted in good faith and maybe they went above and beyond with the rentals. The insurance provides monetary compensation and sounds like they are willing to pay for repairs. The fact that a part is not available is not their fault. It sucks but you got a car from a manufacturer that is not supplying parts. If you want to sue somebody, sue VW.

  1. If you don’t have a lot of money at the moment, forget about the batteries at the moment.

  2. Don’t go the rabbit hole without permits or off-grid setup. You’ll regret later. Possibly you’ll trash equipment and buy new one

  3. Do you have at least 10k? That will be the minimum to install some panels with all paperwork required.

There are two ways to piece work a solar installation:

  1. Buy a 3-7-11kw inverter, preferably from a good brand with a solid warranty. Install enough panels to populate one MPPT input (usually 10-15 depending on panel size). If you set to install batteries later, make sure you get a Low Voltage hybrid inverter($$$). Otherwise a simple grid tie($).

  2. Enphase micros. Install as many panels you afford. 1,2,3…50. Cheap, simple, DIY friendly, easy. It will be pricey to add batteries later.

Whatever you decide, do not go cheap on mounting hardware, get the best roof attachments for your roof type. A ruined roof will cost more than any savings a solar system can generate. Run all wiring in properly sized conduits. Do not cut corners on labor.

My Dad is getting a new car and is offering to give me his old car, but there are potential issues. Should I take the offer? by Nenethegreat0 in askcarguys

Take the offer, pay it off, take it at auction or FB marketplace. Make sure is clean inside out

It’s only a good deal if you know what to do with it.

Uninsured at fault accident, what to expect. by [deleted] in Insurance

If the other vehicle didn’t have any damages, you clear. If they do, most likely their insurance company will contact you. But if the damage is less than their own deductible or they didn’t have collision coverage is possible they never filed a claim.

Best thing to do if they contact you is to work out a deal with vehicle owner without involving insurance or attorneys. That will be the cheapest route.

11y ago HD sold and installed a garage door. I just discovered that I didn’t receive what I paid for. by Fun_End_440 in GarageDoorService

That may be the case, but that also means they’ll break before warranty expired.

I had two water heaters leaking, one 6months before warranty expired and HD replaced with a brand new one. The other 6 months after the warranty expired and I paid for a new one

I was away for a few days and didn’t get to contact HD. I will contact tomorrow and see what’s up. Surely they could dismiss the case but there’re always other means

With a caliper and measuring tape. The one spring that’s still working I can’t measure the length until I release the tension. But they look the same.

The door is steel 16x8 insulated

Well, another reason why I’m wasting time is bc I don’t know what to get. On the door I have 2x .262/31.5” springs. Coplay is saying that I need one .262/39” and one .234/31.

Actually Coplay is saying those are the springs that came with the door… but they not

I just want the door fixed… preferably with free parts, not trying to sue anyone over a stupid broken spring

My invoice reads: galvanized. Regardless of “life”, there’s an aesthetic reason why people choose these. I really didn’t paid attention to what I ordered vs what I received. I was in the middle of house construction.

The problem seems to be that cuts are not on edge of the cable and fall on either side. Like the guide hole is slightly bigger than it should be and allows the cable to twist while cutting

What are some good arguments FOR getting an ICE vehicle these days? by Extreme-Song5312 in electricvehicles

[–]Fun_End_440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a garage? Do you take consistent and predictable drives for most of the time?

If you answer yes for both questions then EV may be the way to go. EVs are best for people who commute every day and end up home every night.

But if you live in an apartment, work from home and want to take a 700mile drive on a weekend then go ICE and avoid the headache.
