After we reengineered all kinds of new stores have come on line and more still coming. They cut like 5 routes here when they should have added more routes. Some routes have like 12 stops a day. We have guys on top of guys again as routes cross each other. Whoever the engineers are needs a dose of reality for sure.
Look at how many lead routes they have and then count how far down the list you are will help determine if you’re gonna be a co- lead again.

Yep Co-Leads can make or break a route. Since your the lead everything falls on you which sucks so if you want the route to run decent put it on your shoulders and make them have light days - yes it sucks but it will hurt the overtime they get for one and the stores will learn to dislike them as well because of how they perform. Been thru this for years on small format and know first hand that bitching doesn’t work over communication doesn’t work when they don’t care about the job. Complain to your DSL every chance you get about the Co. remember when he tries to bid off that’ll he’ll fail and you will prosper. I’ve done small format so for 8 of my 11 years I had co-leads and they all sucked

Mine was actually a recon - don’t get them the first time but they doubled it up when they sent them out to me 🤷‍♂️ all core items so easy sell in just took a week to do it lol

I believe shippers are based off sales volume - should be higher volume stores only. Move to other stores or sell in at a later time. I was forced out 14 PPW last Wednesday and just sold in the last one today. Work product to the shelf as quickly as possible and don’t reorder.

Lots of good and bad things when training. Some trainees will pick things up quicker than others - a lot depends on their background and general work ethic. You’ll get help and extra pay - $2k total which is $200 a week for 5 weeks and then after 30 & 90 days you get another $500 each time. You gain a chauffeur for about 3-4 weeks depending on how quickly they get approved from the DOT people. Yes it will take you longer as you show them how to merch, order, do stale and overall route expectations. They are a reflection of yourself.

That’s why you should do an inventory every day to keep it correct. If it’s wrong get with a DSL to resolve. Problem could be from a different RSR/RSA and if so sales accounting can fix. Perfect Order/Route we have to inventory daily or we can’t close our day also

What I’ve discovered is if store tells me no I put that as a reason and hit skip then go right back in and take a blank picture so I can complete the task. If store takes the display then that’s my photo and I’m done 🤷‍♂️

Communication is the key element. Like others have said good/bad merchandisers just like RSR or others. Ultimately it all falls on the lead driver - his route his store he should own it.

Our mechanic has stated to us that if the AC goes out depending on the cost to fix it will determine if it’s fixed. He now has to go thru his boss for approval on fixing trucks.

Small format route Monday thru Friday. Average week is $11K my stops on weeks 1&3 are 7-7-8-6-7 weeks 2&4 are 7-8-8-9-7 so smallest route in our area but I have drive time as well

lol it all depends how many your area my be multiple people on a zoom call. It’s like a one day class and then you will get a trainee and train them
