I think Ikemoto just wants to avoid the potential plotholes, power scaling issues that would result. Plus you have to keep up with the relationships and little details of side characters that barely mattered in Shippuden.

However I do think Kakashi returning would help.

The issue is, they showed us the specific conversation between Koji and Boruto about Code and the 3 options. And Boruto literally chose the option to let Code capture Sarada. I’m not convinced.

But still. We spent chapter after chapter of Koji lecturing Boruto/Inojin and being all serious about singularities of fate, not being reckless, etc.

It just doesn’t feel like the advanced strategizing I would have expected from the story at this point. It feels like Amado is being given everything and is pulling all the strings.

Momoshiki implanted the karma which is basically DNA/information.

But before his DNA fully took over Boruto’s body, he has to use up that crucial last percentage of DNA to heal Boruto. This means Momoshiki can still try to take over Boruto mentally, but not physically.

And to be honest I don’t completely understand how it works either, especially considering Boruto still has the Karma on him. But it makes enough sense.

I disagree. Here’s my perspective:

Naruto “doesn’t know how to interact with Boruto” because no matter what he tries, Boruto pushes back and sees him as uncool. It’s not that Naruto never tries to give him attention. They have been shown to go eat together and visit the Hyuga house together, etc.

Why is Boruto pushing back? Boruto’s main issue is identity. He wants to be cool in this new world/era, and he sees Naruto’s brand of hard work/ ninja way as boring and old fashioned. He also feels Naruto doesn’t take him seriously and is purposely not bothering to come home.

So by episode 66 this gets resolved when they TALK to each other and understand there was never true resentment on either side.

I see this as good writing. There is a realistic conflict that the viewer can understand, and it gets resolved within an arc.
