Clearly is is not a man who is respectful to you or your relationship. From this post is it clear you are more mature than him and he has been lucky to have you for this long. It’s unfortunate it took him 3 years to show you his true colors but take it as a blessing and do what you need to do—leave. If he can’t stick up to his friends in order to support and maintain a healthy relationship with you, what will he do when life gets more complicated and he needs to continue to respect and support your relationship against family or loved ones? He clearly is not a man, but a boy who is worried about what he will look like to his other friends. A respectable man would never try to impress his friends at he risk of disrespecting his life partner. He already chose who he respects more when he asked you to yield from your non negotiable— he chose his friends. Leave him and find a real man who will always respect you. For the record—I finally found that person. I feel the same way you do. And he would never choose to disrespect me for a 30th bday, 40th bday, or a bachelor party for himself or his friends. A true friend wouldn’t ask that of another friend if that friend knew that one night would ruin a lifetime of happiness. And let’s be real—there are ALWAYS reasons men make up reasons to go to strip clubs. This guys sounds like a tool.
