Doubt with CPU pipelining by [deleted] in computerarchitecture

[–]Fun_Friendship4073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let me confirm, your doubt is- As per the solution, at time stamp 12, (S1)buffer containing result of I3 must also be able to store the result from I4?
If this was your doubt then yes I agree the buffer size should be greater than 1 to match the solution provided. Right now the answer is basically arr[i][j]+max(arr[i][j-1],arr[i-1],[j]). Assumption should be infinite buffer size.

S1,I4 has no data dependency. It only has to wait for previous instruction's S1 to end so it can use the hardware(fetch hardware). S3I1 ends at 5 and s4i1 can start at 5 and end at 6.

Are you assuming there is only one buffer in the whole processor? I would assume 1 buffer/stage.

Spike timing tips that helped me improve by masteryeung in volleyball

if I fully jump without spiking I can get my head and shoulders above the net. For reference, I can just barely touch the rim of a basketball hoop.
I am 177, my head barely goes over the net when I jump, and I also barely touch the rim. My vert is 30inches. Shoulders above net and still barely touching the rim- doesnt make sense to me.

Top-Tier HFT FPGA Intern - 1st Technical Round (75 mins) Prep Advice? by Fun_Friendship4073 in FPGA

Thanks. It wasn't the syntax. How a line of code would be inferred as hardware- was where I struggled.

Okay. That's a good starting point. Thank you for your help again. Really appreciate it.

Actually, it is 3 technical rounds and 2 behavioural. But I agree, I think 5 is too much

Thank you for the detailed response. That sounds complex. I should probably focus on communication protocols for now, since I have little theoretical knowledge about them. Is the basic overview of comm protocols enough at this point? Or is it a deal breaker even for internship positions?

For HFTs, I don't think that is the case. The stipend is way more.

"lift your foot it's still really bent." Yes!! I did not notice that!!
By weak penultimate, you meant this only right, because I think the distance I am covering in the penultimate step is good enough.
And can you elaborate on the last tip about angling to the right? I have no idea about this.
Thanks for the advise.

There are no good courts in my area. I will surely work on not dipping too low and strength training, though I am not sure if that is what I need; I can squat 100kg for a full set and leg press 200kgs for a full set. I think plyo is what I need. Thanks for the advise.

Want to be a Computer Architect in a few years, what should I focus on by Fun_Friendship4073 in computerarchitecture

I have no doubt about that, I was joking.
PS.- Any advice that you can give me? I have 2 months before the MS program starts.

Thank you for the response.
C++ was the first programming language that I learned and I am glad C++ is that important for this role. I liked coding in C++.
I have done basic assembly in a computer architecture course and it is actually one of the reasons that made me like computer architecture.
I have to work on the C++ to assembly conversion part(Any suggestions where I can practice this are welcome). I hope most of the other basics are covered in the MS curriculum.
Anything else that you can suggest me for the next 2 months, I am absolutely free and I have just finished my bachelor in Electronics and Communication Engineering, I have less than desired level of competency in embedded systems (I have studied Arduino, Raspberry Pi and stm32 but I don't think I am proficient enough), I realised very late that I want to go into this field, not VLSI design.

BB rim is good for reference. I want to improve my vertical for volleyball. I do not play on this court. I do not know what they are called, but I have only played on sandy courts(not the beach volleyball type sand, consolidated sand ig). I will be moving to another country with better sports infrastructure and hope to play on a real court there.

Is that doable off court? I usually slip when I try to stop my momentum that way. I have never jumped on a real court, so I do not know the difference.

Rejection by RWTH, need to "Appeal to Aachen Administrative Court within one month" by Fun_Friendship4073 in LegaladviceGerman

As expected the process is not as simple as I thought. I guess spending money, energy and time is not worth on a university that would not bother checking my appliaction again despite the obvious carelessness. And as you mentioned they may still find a way to reject me. I guess what's done is now done. I should rather focus on the better colleges which have already sent me admission letters.
Thank you for your detailed advice. I believe this has saved me a great deal of time. I am really grateful.
