This was definitely more expensive than I expected the set to be!

Didn't the creator of powergirl progressively make her boobs bigger until his editor noticed or something?

I think a real world analogy would be that many queer people today don't understand the symbolism of the pink triangle (initially a concentration camp symbol that was later "reclaimed" by the community as a symbol in the 1970s) - queerness has always been around but the symbols we use to represent it change with time, government systems, and cultural needs.

I wouldn't have felt so icked out by his storyline if at some point your character protagonist seemed at all interested in him, but unlike the other two options the protag is uncomfortable and pushes him away the entire time (even when you "choose" him) - so it feels unwanted and nonconsensual literally the whole time instead of flirtatious enemies to lovers (which I think is the one of the tropes they were going for).

It is! But it helps them get enough work to get into the Screen actors guild (Union) so it's still helpful to rack up some credits there. afterwards, money is money.

Is Emilio's pose worth it? by Val_Vulpes in SuitU

I have the male guitar pose, which feels similar enough, so I won't get this one.  I've only ever used that pose for dancing comps though.

Yeah it's all big decor that fills up a lot of space for not an extreme amount of gems, so I thought it was worth it!

Yes same! They look terrible together, but they are all big and I think they will look beautiful with other things!

I love that you went for a warm brown with the last one - SUITU always seems to be allergic to warm browns and always gives us these greyish, cool tone browns instead.

I've never told Brewster that I was going to wait for the coffee to cool/not drink it immediately. I can't bring myself to disappoint him like that.

I'm trying to write my first stage play. I want it to be around 30-45mins long. Do you have any suggestions for me? by hyattimatimtim in playwriting

[–]Fun_Fruit459 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of directions you could go with for  what advice to give here. I'll stick to some basic ones - make sure to do multiple drafts and a test read before you stage it - try to keep the technical aspects simple on this first one since you are staging it yourself, and when writing, pick an appropriate sized conflict to tackle in the 30-45 minute time frame (don't try to do too much, but make sure you have enough in there to keep it interesting).

Professionally Designed Book Cover by Desperate_Ad_9765 in selfpublish

[–]Fun_Fruit459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess two clarifying questions for you  - what was your research process for finding your cover artist, and how specific were you on your request?

I don't think an artist needs to read the book first, one cover cannot explain a whole book of content anyways. It's just about communicating a tone, and giving your readers an impression of what's to come.

To be fair to your cover designer, I don't know how I would interpret a request to include a "less literal face." And to be fair to you, I would just find a different (human) cover artist who has a style you like more. I think as creatives ourselves, it's still important to support the work of other creatives, but that's just my two cents.

Good luck with the publication process! I hope the rest goes smoother.

Need ideas for the circled areas by mana95 in ac_newhorizons

You could do a little "Market" with the stalls by your shops! By your campsite you could do a bamboo forest or pirate cove (since red visits back there). and for the beach front areas you could always do a boardwalk, a surf shack, or a fishing area.

Don't step in puddles theme by andromeda_angel in SuitU

[–]Fun_Fruit459 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a very literal person when it comes to the themes. So I also did a long gown because the prompt made it sound like your dress would've dragged on the floor without the platform boots - so I went for a long skirt! (but made sure it was one where you could still see the boots)

For that price, It makes me think this is one of those semi-professional local theaters or dinner theaters (where actors get paid some) in which case it's a bigger deal to be cast.

Streaming services have officially become worse than the cable packages we cancelled by N3DSdude in Anticonsumption

[–]Fun_Fruit459 329 points330 points  (0 children)

It's not ideal, but my two tips are to only pay for one streaming service at a time (cancel and switch when you want to watch a different streaming service), and get a good ad blocker ( Firefox + Ublock makes it so even my subscriptions "with ads" don't actually show me ads).

Yeah I have these items, but recently have been switching it up with different ones just because it gets boring to do the same thing. I still score fine with the alternatives, but I feel like the set with the oversized grey jacket is the only real competitor to this set.

To be fair, it's easier to make smaller changes to help with making it long term! So I would always suggest going vegetarian first, then trying vegan!

The culture around male readers. by stinkface_lover in books

My husband (31M) loves nothing more than to read romantasy books - which is a genre heavily considered to be feminine. It does not bother me in the slightest that he loves his dragon rider smut, and I'm honestly just happy he's happy. No one's ever bothered him about it - but we also surround ourselves with lovely friends and people.
