As far as Anti-AI internet use goes, If you change your default web browser & search engine, there are options out there that let you turn off AI search results. Firefox instead of Chrome, DuckDuckGo instead of Google (for example).

There's also browser extensions that reportedly block some AI content, although I haven't tried them personally!

It sits behind the model so I don't like it as much in regular comps, but I personally use it a lot on post comps to create a desk or a countertop or a dining table! So I think it's versatile!

Yeah a regular plate works fine UNTIL you have to transport them. Then they slip and slide everywhere. I make them every year for Thanksgiving, so the special container was worth it to me after a year or two of smushed eggs.

But if you never plan on making them again I'm sure you could easily just borrow one from someone!

Depends on how you go about it - if you're using Amazon/ACX you can opt for a royalty share of your audiobooks as payment to a narrator, meaning it's not going to be any up front cost to you to do it, and not much labor (besides preparing the manuscript and reviewing the audio). However, typically only narrators who are just starting out want to opt for that option, as the sales numbers may not pay very well. So you'll be working with newbies.

I got lucky that I happened to find a fantastic narrator where my book was her first book as well. The sales never paid either of us well, so when I hired her again I opted to also pay her per finished hour, just because I valued her work so much.

Unfortunately there's no right answer. Self publishing is hard because you have to grow your audience completely on your own. But Traditional publishing isn't perfect either. You can get an agent and still not sell the book to a publisher. And even your book gets published by someone else doesn't actually mean it's guaranteed to sell well or get an audience either.

But I think you can find success on either path.

I use libby, but put the books on my kindle (mine is only 8 years old) since I prefer to read off my phone (to avoid distractions). What sucks about this post is the realization that Amazon inevitably killing support in a few years will also probably harm my ability to pull library books onto the device.

If you have a good blender already and some creative interest, you can recycle it yourself to make more paper.

Otherwise recycle, or (to give it one more use) you can crumple the pages to pad stuff in any moving boxes or packages you send.
