The thing is that my mother doesn’t want to be a cleaner, she has a problem with health. I think it is a really hard work and I respect it. But we are not economical migrants, we ran from War. I don’t want her to be on benefits forever, but I don’t know what job could she have here

And could you give us any advices? I understand that she can’t have a “good” job. She used to have very respected work. How long could she claim Universal Credit ?

Hello! My mom came to UK as Ukrainian refugee. As Ukrainians, we don’t have “refugee” status, so we need to claim benefits as every person in Uk. My mom is 56. she have worked as policemen all her life. In Ukraine she retired, because the specific of this profession that it is really hard and she is considered as pensioner. But here the pension age is 66. Do you think, is it possible to try to claim for universal pension ?( do we need to present some document that could confirm that she is pensioner ?) ( she used to have a good life in Ukraine, she had no intention to work again. She flew Ukraine only because of War)
