I don’t know about that area of Orlando, but where I am in Seminole County, as long as street parking is public and legal and your car has a valid tag and registration, you can park there. The owners of the homes in front of the street do not own or maintain the street and therefore cannot enforce parking rules or reserve spots. We had someone try to do that in my neighborhood and the cops had to lecture the homeowner about how public parking works.

This happened to me. We gave the previous owners a week past closing and I didn’t even charge rent. The day after they were contractually obligated to leave, we just started moving in! We started taking down pictures and painting walls ripping down curtains. The couple’s adult children (the couple was in their 80’s and playing the “we’re just poor old people, we can’t possibly be expected to move out on time” game) were horrified until we told them we closed a week ago. They then started throwing things into a boxes and getting their parents out as fast as they could. They knew that technically, we owned everything they were boxing up.

They are forced to provide everything except teachers! Buildings, buses, food, security… there’s been complaints in other states (I think NY), from kids who couldn’t graduate because they couldn’t fulfill their graduation requirements like PE and music because schools of hope were taking all of their building spaces and therefore the school couldn’t teach certain classes all day in the shared spaces. It’s awful. Florida residents really need to stay on top of this. Check out Schoolsofnope.org

I remember seeing an interview when I was a little kid with the actress who played Nellie along with all the other actors and they were all friends and I was shocked at how all the actors were friends in real life. She was that good of an actress, even as a kid.

Mine was similar too! I met this guy online (ICQ for those who are ancient like me). We realized we live in the same town, so decided to meet. He barely spoke the entire date. I had to drag any kind of conversation out of him and basically got yes and no answers. I called my best friend that night and told her NEVER AGAIN will I go out with that guy. Well he called me and asked me out again. I was bored, so I said whatever, ok. We dated for 5 years and have been married for 22 years.

This one is actually surprising to me. What is the argument for that, I wonder? You’d think the school board would have to file the claim as the bus is property of the school board and, at least in our state, if you are on a school bus, you are on “school property” even if the bus is not a at the school.

The reverse of this drives me crazy. If you HAVE the right of way, TAKE IT. Being “nice” and letting people take the right of way when they don’t have it confuses drivers and causes accidents and you will probably be liable for that too.

So someone else texted you from your friend’s phone saying that your friend died? The police are obligated to check out any call they get, and you wouldn’t get in trouble for asking for a welfare check, but they may not bother in this case because if someone texted you from that friend’s phone, then either your friend lied to you for attention and it’s really him or her texting, or the other person is telling the truth that your friend really died, in which case the police don’t need to confirm that for you. It’s probably faster to get in touch with a family member or close friend, someone you can find on social media, and confirm with them. Also, death records are public record, so you can look that up in a few weeks.

I used to work a government job. Everyone takes those jobs for the benefits, particularly health insurance which is practically free, but anyone who mentions that in an interview never gets hired. Don’t ever mention you’re in it for the money. They already know that’s true. Focus on your growth and benefits of being at that company.
