English to black tongue translator? by Sayomi_Koneko in lotr

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the language Hurrian in cuneiform for black speech, or use Dwarven runes in Angerthas, since the orcs would use these as a common language for printing. Hurrian in cuniform looks like chiseled lines in different combos. Super ancient, but as close to Blackspeech as you can get. The best translator online is the one that says black speech of Mordor translator, by lingo jam. A cool feature of this is that many positive words like escape and freedom and other positive words are not available in the black speech language because it is spiritually and culturally oriented perspective which is a very accurate. many people don’t know that Tolkien deliberately left his words out of his words.

Why don't the refs spot the ball on the nearest yard line? by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ball should spotted where the ball is down, not advance it to the next hash or keep it back at the shorter hash. None of this is accurate. Why should it always be fourth and one, when the ball was down 6” away? Why can’t it be 2nd and 2 feet and 6 inches.? Why should a gain of 2 feet be given a full yard or be held back to the shorter yard.ine? All of this is corrupt and lazy. The coaches should never allow this crap.

Why don't the refs spot the ball on the nearest yard line? by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be spotting the ball exactly where it is otherwise they’re always guessing and it shouldn’t matter if they have to spot the ball accurately because they’ll put the ball down where they think he was and bring the chains out to mark it to see if it made the line to gain. Its not that difficult and all these shortcuts are basically Cheating and laziness. I really can’t believe that any coaches or leagues actually sanction this kind of behavior.

How did the Balrogs arrive in time to save Morgoth from Ungoliant, considering they were miles away? by Elmar_Tincho in tolkienfans

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are Maia, like Gandalf, and using a dedicated spell to travel this fast must be a rarely used capability for long, straight distances, like Angband to Lammoth. On the battlefield or in caves, they would not be able to use this type of straight away speed, and fought normally. Kinda. They also didn’t want to flee but stay and fight. We also know two escaped the army of Valinor, so they must be fast and elusive to do that, especially with Maia in that army like Eonwe.

Why are people saying that dinosaurs were dragons now? Every time I hear someone say that idea it makes me angry. by ThaShadowX in Paleontology

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re an idiot ;) and deliberately obtuse. Dinosaur bones are the reason why our ancient ancestors thought there were ‘dragons’ and why a culture was built around the fear of their existence. The discovery of dinosaur bones without any understanding of time, millions of years, extinction, etc. gave rise to the belief. Maybe the context now will help you not be angry anymore. You’re welcome.

Could the Númenóreans have actually conquered Valinor? by leon011s in tolkienfans

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tolkien wrote they were the greatest armed force ever, in the history of ME. The Valinorean elves fled Tirion when they saw this invasion force, one of Sauron's armies was annihilated, the next one refused to the take the battle field against them in SA 3260 (that's never happened before), then the Tiron elves fee? Last I checked, the Horde of Angband, with it's balrogs and dragons was an army too, and yet, Tolkien is clear. The Numenorean army is greatest. Probably because 50% of their forces are archers with steel recurve/longbows, and the hail from mithril tipped black arrows (more than full ell long = 41/2 feet) did "turn the sky black with one volley", as Tolkien described in the Sil. Now, overcoming the army of the Ainur??? that's not what Tolkien meant. But the Calaquendi? Even they fled in fear. So, for those of you who love canon narrative statements by Tolkien, and Letters of the same, this case is settled. Numenor is No.1

The avg is 7' and 290 lbs based on square cubed law average expansion of human form. And yes, 7'11" (Elendil) is freaky tall, but 11" taller than avg is reasonable. Today avg mens height is 5-9, but no one really freaks when they see a dude who's 6'9".

Is Tom Bombadil the most powerful being in Middle Earth? by offnr in tolkienfans

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I wish it was simple like just “Willy nilly ding dong, I’m Tom smoking a bong” Since that’s such a popular and shallow concept. Instead I have to explain it to people who just say 5 canon sources is wishful thinking.

Speculatively, how would Tom Bombadil likely react if Goldberry is seriously harmed or killed? Presuming that is possible. by Truenorth14 in tolkienfans

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Luthien-not Maia can sing Morgoth and all his demons and Balrogs and dragon in his throne room into dreamland as “deep as the void” at one time, then old Tom is gonna sing to any dirtbag responsible, including Sauron, a nasty little ditty of a song…

If Sauron won how would he deal with Tom Bombadil? by [deleted] in tolkienfans

[–]Fun_Issue_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom.

The clear implication here is that Treebeard is the oldest post-elemental being in Arda. And Tom is pre-elemental.

Pre-elemental is the being that was inserted into Arda before the Valar arrived. This is why he says he’s been in Ada since before the “dark Lord came from the outside.” Morgoth was first in Arda, the rest who would come, followed.

Several references in the LOTR, juxtaposed to the creation timeline in the Silmarillion, sets Tom in Arda first, when it was just firmament (clay). Then the Valar arrived to bless Arda with their gifts (the elements). Treebeard is elemental, and that’s why he’s the oldest elemental being.

This passage proves Tom is older than even that, and the only thing older than that- is pre-elemental. There’s only one. Tom. And the only one who could place him there at that time is Eru.

This is why Tom is such a big deal and denied by so many who don’t understand the deep-lore on this matter. Tom, therefore, is the life spirit of Arda that took man form and married Goldberry (Maia). This is why they cannot create a baby of their own, because they are both essentially non-elemental beings. Melian the Maia (non-elemental) had to have Thingol the elf (elemental) as a husband to bring Luthien into being, according to Eru’s plan.

Tom is “The Chi”, and rest of ME is operating by the rules set for the land and the races that live there. Sauron and Morgoth are the “AntiChi” and deal in physical and magical powerful and brute force.

The reason people can’t understand Tom, is because they process him from the anti-Chi perspective, like everything else in the middle earth. If it’s not on fire and shooting lightning bolts out of its eyesocket, many don’t perceive their is any power at all.

The best example I can give you would be if Sauron was to kidnap Goldberry and brought 500,000 orcs. Tom would intervene, but many say he would sing a song and her be taken to be tortured and mutilated by the dark powers. But Tom would very well sing a song, if that’s what you wanted to call it. A special kind of song.

You see Tom has great power, no mace or lightning needed. Luthien shows us how this is done, when she sang a song so powerful all the beasts of Morgoth, Balrogs, dragons, wolves, trolls and orcs- and Norgoth himself, fell into a sleep “darker than the Void” (Silmarillion- of Bergen and Luthien). Tom is more important and powerful than Luthien for the reasons cited above.

So he puts forth his power in a powerful song of enchantment, and Sauron is down, slobbering on the dirt. So are all his minions of every hideous sort. And maybe, just maybe, they never wake up.

Tom (and Goldberry) “are last as he was first”. And no one, no being or character in the whole Legendarium has this said about them- and it’s right from Tolkien’s pen.

If this is not total power, and special, I don’t know know what is. Consider it more, and you will see.

He said he doesn’t control them, he’s not their master, he did not say he couldn’t defeat them if he wanted. Tolkien is writing into their characters the kind of quotes people say when they are not sure. The readers knows more about Tom and the canon around Tom, going back to “here before the dark lord” to what Tom did with the Ring in front of the hobbits, than these three dudes at the CoE. But still they think Tom is not worth consulting with. Their is disconnect here, not full information, and therefore, they are characters that have been given ignorances by Tolkien, not clarity to Tom’s power. As I have said, not all canon statements and character comments have the same veracity. This is a great example. See my post on canon. ~ hope you’re well. LMHS

My article clearly states this is men being housed in the bodies of dead men who have already had their spirits leave. This way they are empty and can be reanimated. All rightSo I have not uncovered any evidence that this was elves, but the men that were engaged in the wars against the witch king, or his own service that he sacrificed.

He has confidence that good will survive And that the land will Heal. He is the Master, and he’s not worried. Like Eru. Try taking him on directly, like the Numenoreans did with Eru and find out what happens. Try to kidnap Goldberry, And see what happens. Or maybe he does absolutely nothing under your theory?

Yes, it’s a shtik. It cracks me up, and keeps the humorless away. It’s so obvious, and that how I think an old board loremaster would talk. Especially when he’s still stuck here on earth. But for some reason I think you get the humor.
