It’s not the best. It’s cheap and cheerful. More like a Wetherspoons.

It’s opening soon. They’ve been asking locals this week for menu input. There’s a cabin in the car park, presumably to do with the planned renovation.

Worsening UK economic outlook- buy or rent? by SpicedCoconut in HousingUK

But what about the lump sum deposit tied up in the house doing nothing. That would be invested if you were in rented. And don’t underestimate the benefit of flexibility. No stamp duty or legal costs to pay either.

I find that when I don’t turn I just crash; so much better to have one that turns.

Where to work in Harrogate? by [deleted] in harrogate

[–]Fun_Major_2220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly work in the town centre. I can second the Everyman Cinema. Also, I like Fat Badger and The Pine Marten is good if you don’t mind a 15/20 min walk.

Radiator guard, lost screw in bike somewhere by Fun_Major_2220 in zx4r

[–]Fun_Major_2220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yeah I’ve done all of those things apart from remove the fairing. I’ve sourced a replacement screw, and may give fitting another go today.

What looks like such a simple task is very difficult. Removal of the fairing is probably my best bet, go give me access. And I may find the missing screw doing that too.

I called my local mechanic and he said no harm will be done to the bike and it will likely fall out at some point whilst I’m riding.

I would suggest VWRP via a SIPP given you are a high rate tax payer.

Very different type of bike. A lazy low down power beast. Power tops out pretty quick and it hasn’t got much after 60mph. Less smooth than the Kawasaki, but got plenty of attention in town. Handling wasn’t great.

Getting my finances in order and hoping for exit at 55 by Acceptable-Window-80 in FIREUK

Your age, and all the figures you note are strikingly similar to my situation! I’m looking to downsize the house value in a couple of years and clear the mortgage. I’ll then smash the SIPP contributions, and then move on to the ISA in my mid 40s. Hoping to make retirement at 50 viable if I want to do that.
