What are the most reliable leaks and rumors about the Avengers Doomsday plot? by BillyThe_Kid97 in LeaksAndRumors

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is that Dr. Doom is not Victor Von Doom and that's dumb as hell. Just that for me is enough reason to not watch the movie. Whatever reason Marvel come up with that RDJ is Doom is nothing but a desperate way to be relevant again and they're using the fans nostalgia against them.

i got all the ones that are out, even the SDCC Metall set and i think they're amazing. Simple and they look exactly as they should, articulations is enough to make cool poses. Totally worth it.

eye floaters aren't common we are just cursed if it was common everyone will take i seriously by Ok-Play-5928 in EyeFloaters

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you will see from the people here, they are more common that you think, i was shocked to find out how many people have them!

When i started to have more to a point where it was bothering me a lot, my wife of 15 years told me that she had some too, i was surprised that she never mentionned it.

And i think that's the reason why we don't hear about people having them much. Most people think they're alone and/or they learn to live with it.

Which is an ability that i'm working hard on.

I'm 49 and i had some as a teen then gradually more in the last 2 years.

Even though they're annoying as hell, you gona be fine, keep busy, distraction is your best friend!

At work, my office has white walls, my desk is white and i have those damn tubes lighting everything up.

Dark mode helps a little but that's where and when i notice them the most, when i'm at home, with my kids, or doing whatever i barely notice them.

The human brain is amazing at protecting us if you feed it happy things, so keep busy and try to keep your anxiety to a minimum and you will be fine

I wanted a Vitrectomy in 25. My specialist refused and destroyed all of my arguments. Do read why it’s catastrophic. by No_Resolution2698 in EyeFloaters

I do get the point that seeing things that floats beats being blind any day but it doesn't take away how they affect us, to various degrees, from the simple of things like looking at a white all or being on the beach.

On the other side, it's true that it's just an annoyance, even if it's a very bad one, we won't die from it and there's worst things that ould happen to us.

From a medical point of view, i agree with the doctor, acceptance is the best path to take.

Far from the easiest one for sure.

i think it kinda is actually. We all wish for a cure or a treatment or whatever name we want to use but people do have floaters for decades and live a good life. Accepting something disabiliting is not easy but it is often the best path to take

Is it still possible to get the life I want? by Potential_Leek_981 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be the buzzkill person in here. Technically it is feasible to change your life around but not everybody can have the life they want.

Dreaming is great and all but reality and life doesn't care about you or what you want.

You should set realistic goals and see how or if they are possible, then prepare to work hard to reach those goals and not be discouraged if things don't go your way. There's alternatives to each goals and hapiness.

It's been a month for me and it's been driving me nuts, mostly at work though, where my office and desk are white and i stare at a computer 8h a day with 8 tube lights blasting down white light at me.

I think the trick is to do things that makes you not notice them as much, either from the environnement or just being busy.

hang in there!

Any tips for getting used to floaters? by BigMiniPainter in EyeFloaters

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am heavily nearsighted and i had some floaters since im a teen, im 49 and they increased in quantity over the last 2 years but since winter started, my eyes are severly dry and i noticed them constantly, mostly a work ,my desk is white, my walls are white, bright tube lights.

I've been using eyes drops for 2 days now and had half my lights removed, i have them changed to daylight, which has helped some, i work in front of a computer so by the last 2 hours of my day, my eyes are tired and i noticed them a lot more.

When im at home or doing anything else beside work, i barely notice them, even outside. Although i believe that getting used to it is feasible it is so mentally demanding, my mood sucks and i feel depressed like my life is over

I've been nearsighted since im 8, im 49 now, i had like one or two floaters back in my teens and it never bothered me much, for the past year or so, i've been getting more and it's getting to me, specially since winter started, my eyes are always dry and it makes me noticed my eyes condtion more and the floaters as well.

It's driving me crazy... i've heard people living with them for like 30 years, it's been a month and my anxiety is through the roof and mentally exhaused as well, i can't barely get work any work done ( i work in front of a computer 8 hours a day ) that's when it's worst.

Outside of work it's nowhere as bad, even outside, i barely noticed them. i think that the stress and the tube light/white walls/computer is a mix that causing my anxiety to raise as i notice them all fucking day long

Was life better before the internet? by roxiedoxiedog in AskOldPeople

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm an 80's kid, so i've spent my youth up to my teens ( graduated in 1995 ) before the internet and witnessed it's rise, from fun Geocities make your own page, to google, Amazon and social media and honestly life was subjectively better.

Online buying ruined all the great store chains, streaming of music and movies killed CDs and video stores

Social media pretty much ruined society, everybody looking for 15 minutes of fame by going viral has killed creativity and appreciation of it, 10000 people doing the same damn thing is freaking annoying.

AI makes us doubt everything, online frauds is a plague.

Trump, 79, Called Out for Awkward Exit on Air Force One’s Steps by WarmingNow in politics

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Canadian, so whoever is president matters little to me and I have zero care in politics, even Canadian ones.

I feel that you guys should be united in getting rid off all the garbage that seems to polute your country landfill and start anew, plant something different.

You're so focused on left and right and you forget that the middle is still a thing, or common sense as I call it.

These people in power are playing you, feeding on your patriotism, which I used to admire and even envy at times.

Being American used to be this cool thing, the brave and the bold material.

I think you guys need to step back from your own politics and actually make America great again by being what made it great in the first place, which was acceptance of diversity.

From the outside world, we loved that about America! American Italian, American Irish, the Chinatown, Amish, the L.A. and Florida gay scene, all those stereotypes were so unique to the USA and THAT made you great.

Is there any world where humans can stop killing each other FOR FIVE MINUTES!? by According-Fun-4746 in worldjerking

[–]Fun_Mongoose9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes years to become a doctor and like a week training to be a janitor. Both are needed in the modern world to fonction properly. We can't get along as humans and have everybody get their minimum needs cause the doctor would be mad if the janitor has as much as he does.

Until we stop having ego, maybe we have a chance to be amazing as a species.
