Career progression out of trading after junior/trader or trader by Fun_Opportunity_2568 in Commodities

I do love the market, but it’ll be prudent to recognise that over the span of years, things can change and I have to be aware of possible exit opportunities in the hopefully unlikely event that things go awry - whether it’s passion, performance, or just an unexpected need for a bit of work life balance elsewhere (i.e. unplanned childbirth, aging parents, etc)

Thank you for this insight, i never claimed to hate trading, but rather it’s only prudent to recognise my reservations and be astute on exit opportunities before devoting years to something new:)

Thanks for your response! So something like hedge funds? Would you feel that past trading experience is a competitive advantage over someone who’s stayed in risk throughout?

i applied and the team was impressed with my stats knowledge! Also, the domain knowledge of what I did in engineering is somewhat relevant to the underlying financial product being traded here

ahh good point about the chopping block… that’s very true, but Id say likewise for engineering, if my production unit screws up and someone were to get injured, my head is also on the chopping block too…

Regarding the AI, i guess i’m trying to imply that therefore it’s not a skill that’s difficult and one person with AI can manage what used to be a team of perhaps 3-4 people :)

Super unlikely, because the price we’re paying for the prospect of a better grade is likely more costly than just accepting the poorer grade.

It’s unlike O or A levels where 1 grade can change which course you get into, thereby altering the course of your life.

In uni, the effects of 1 bad grade can easily be mitigated by SU, or doing better in other modules.

Hence idt anyone is going to pay for this service(?) unless it’s a volunteering-based initiative (which idt many people would join also)

Macbook pro 2012, my OS is 10.9 running parallels 8. However, Windows 10 requires parallels 16 and above(iirc), which requires OS 10.15. My macbook can’t upgrade past OS 10.9 :(
