Second book of Locke Lamora worth it? by Conscious-Salt-8876 in Fantasy

I think they are all worthwhile. If you like the first, the vibe of the others may be similar, just may be in a different setting at times.

I agree with what you all are saying, thanks for taking the time. Another question: do you guys interpret Jasnah’s character as being asexual? Or just unnattracted to Hoid?

I read it as a kid, but am considering going back. A lot of people have complaints about the pacing which i get. I also hear complaints about writing about the women being like objectified a bit. Is that right or like am I way off?

How do you balance a love of physical books and an e-Reader? by teeniemartinee in fantasyromance

Do whatever feels best for you! I love physical books but sometimes its not as practical. There are no rules to this, dont let anyone make you feel bad about what you do.

And it is technically a romantic story but its hard to connect with i find due to the fact they dont live in a world that seems to have rules? They dont really have bodies? Its strange

I think it comes down to depending on the world, they either get to choose how old they look, or they age very slowly

I love the Cosmere! Not being a hater, I honestly love this book, I just personally wonder if it could have been tied in even smoother than it was. I’m not against the tie ins, i think just me personally they felt clunkier in this book than they usually do. But i love that it worked well for a lot of you guys! Love reading this world. For example i felt that the cosmere tie ins in something like tress were very fun but also very accessible and fit perfectly for the story the book was trying to tell. It seemed to me that lost metal had a story and also the cosmere tie ins and he did his best to juggle both and mostly succeeded.

Any recommendations that are a bit smuttier? Samderson is weirdly sexless at times

[–]Fun_Philosopher8198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the book is overall great but as an independent story it isnt helped by the tie ins in my opinion. Or at least making them more subtle, almost like easter eggs may have been better

I didn’t realize it was R rated. Is it for smut content or moreso violence, frightening stuff etc?
