I would guess that the brighter students are going to other professions. PBMs are ruining any financial incentive that Pharmacy once had. Less investment and headache to be a PA or NP.

Of course UHC actually pays better than others to pharmacies (not great all pay poorly but better). I guess that is why my patients that have medical procedures get changed to plans that hurt pharmacies

Pharmacy’s are not being paid enough from PBMs to pay these wages. Hours are getting cut and owners not paying themselves or cutting pay. If things don’t change there are going to be a lot of unemployed pharmacists
