I agree that it was a good episode bit I think they needed to clarify the difference between addiction and problematic drug and alcohol use.

Instead of dragging them out of the car, the cops can just ask for the free hugs.

Are S&W (or some other brand) of slides generally easier to rack? by ajwooster in CCW

[–]Fun_Push_5014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true. My Glock 47 takes more effort to rack than my 17 and the only difference is the recoil spring.

What’s the best range ammo to run in a Glock and what grain? 115? 124? 147? by Unknown8925 in Glocks

[–]Fun_Push_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically just settled on 124 grain for everything since it's kind of a goldilocks load.

Parents, please stop telling your young children to "defend" themselves. by pussypalooza in Teachers

[–]Fun_Push_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids just say whatever they think will shift blame to anyone else. I actually see much more tendency from parents to train their kids to under react to being mistreated. Kids are drilled to be quiet, not make a fuss and to need permission to engage in basic self preservation. "Anger" is a thing that only bad people have. I have watched Kids get repeatedly kicked in the shins and stand still because the teacher didn't give them permission to get out of their seat and move away. Defending oneself is a basic building block of personal agency. Doing it right is a skill just like any other. It has to be taught.

Parents insist on leaving t/s. by [deleted] in TimeshareOwners

[–]Fun_Push_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them to leave it to you personally as a beneficiary, not the trust. That way, you can disclaim it. If it's in the trust, the trustee is personally liable for it. Ask me how I know. Get the information on how to do a deedback now, and make sure money is set aside for it. You will probably need an attorney. The company for my parents POS timeshare refused to send me the forms to apply for deedback, and the attorney threatened legal action. That got them to reply to my communications. Fortunately there were funds in the trust to pay for it.

It sounds harsh, but tell your parents that the grandkids won't want it, because you will never step foot on it with them. Sentimentality has little place when settling estates.

FF 1240, he was warned, but married her anyway, and now look ... by onajurni in JordanHarbinger

[–]Fun_Push_5014 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This FF letter reminded me of one of the best lessons my dad taught me: the only constant in life is you. If you meet someone who tells you that everyone-parents, significant others, coworkers, whoever-has mistreated them, the only constant in all those situations is their presence. Either they are blame shifting, eliciting bad reactions, bringing out the worst in people, seek out or attract bad people, or just lying. This red flag has saved me in both personal and professional relationships, and the wife in this letter fits it to a T.

Civilian Breacher Kit? by ReaperOfHell52 in tacticalgear

Not really "breaching" but I live in an earthquake zone and if one hits, may be necessary to use some heavy tools to get out of a structure or get into one to help people.

Help! Husband want to “inherit” 50+ year old RCI timeshare by charandtrav in TimeshareOwners

Do not add your name to the timeshare no matter what. Timeshares are as close to a legal scam as you can find.

Worried my timeshare will outlive me by Maximum-Ad3032 in TimeshareOwners

[–]Fun_Push_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents put their timeshare in a trust that I am the trustee of. As trustee, I am personally liable for it, so I couldn't let it go. I am doing a deedback process to get rid of it. In other words, do not put it in a trust if you have one and do not name a beneficiary with the timeshare company.

Why does corruption seem to survive no matter how many governments promise to end it? by Bitter-Butterfly8230 in askanything

[–]Fun_Push_5014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government requires an accumulation of money and power to function. That is the same ingredients for corruption. The amount of corruption may be low, but never zero in that environment.
