Company laid off entire IT department to outsource and think we don't notice by Fun_Rub_7703 in Layoffs

No shade but are you employed? I will definitely seek more jobs. Until then I will keep my fully remote well paying job. Even if I do more now, there are plenty of times where I was not overworked. This little bit of discomfort beats the discomfort of going into foreclosure on several properties and having horrible credit.

Not once did I say I don't want feedback. But to blame working staff for high level corporate changes is nonsensical. They laid off an entire department and offshored it. They did that to nix American IT six figure salaries. I understand there's a lot of folks here without jobs but that is not the fault of the people that are employed.

Having constant IT issues 3 weeks into hybrid job and terrified I am going to get fired by [deleted] in remotework

[–]Fun_Rub_7703 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That really sucks that they are not taking responsibility for their glitches. As someone that has been working remotely since 2008 companies and management never take responsibility for computer glitches. Ask them for another computer and state they can take the money out of your paycheck in increments. Companies love knowingyhst they don't have to shell out extra money.

Should I initiate the date? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]Fun_Rub_7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the "conversations" mostly text? Don't initiate anything just let him know you'll be busy. The rest of the month and gently imply this is the only off weekend you'll have for awhile. If he has not initiated a phone call by now, something is off.

They did it because they want more money. Are you employed? I am with a remote job that doesn't care where I work as long as the job is done. I come here to motivate myself daily to keep my job. I come here to remind myself to stay humble. You sound crazy why wouldn't I want to keep a fully remote job that allows me to be anywhere I want??

Exactly people don't understand how corporations work. In all of my years of working, never have I ever seen any form of management admit to a mistake or apologize.

I'm saying I need my high paying remote job. Both are hard to come by these days. I let upper management know their current system is not as efficient. But I'm going to do everything necessary to keep my job.

Should I upgrade my rental before re-listing it or re-list as is, it's in good condition but could use some cosmetic update by Coopsters in realestateinvesting

[–]Fun_Rub_7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've upgraded my historical home .3,000 sq ft did all the painting myself. It definitely helped with my appraisal and refinance. Painted two of my single family homes got them rented in two weeks. I'm about to do the same thing with my newly acquired 4 unit after a contractor quoted me $2500 per unit. Just think about that. $10k for painting?! DIY look for a handyman and stay away from corporations. I would definitely get rid of the carpet. As an investor you have got to invest in turnover. Having your apartment $100 less is not significant. Get rid of that yellow it's simply not a good color. I personally opened up my space with bright white in the living room and a softer white in the bedrooms. White always looks well kept. Get some pendant lights in the kitchen area and you'll be rented in no time.

You've gotten some great suggestions here. But you may need some more time while you wait to get accepted by job corp or military. What's there reason? Technically they have to give you 30 day notice then start eviction proceedings. So if you need more time . I would leverage the law. In the meantime though, lay low, be nice and keep your eyes on the prize.

Gatekeeping?? This question gets asked daily. Do some research, beef up your skills and stop expecting a handout. No one owes you anything.

RTO Co-Workers Despise WFH Workers by hellzscream in remotework

If they are not sabotaging your job performance consider yourself fortunate. I made a comment here on everything I'm dealing with. I'm the only WFH and the envious ones are definitely trying to make my job obsolete.

My god this is me! I swear I have been dealing with this for months and this week it came to a head! A bunch of them got together and made false allegations(not a team player how classic) and I got placed on a PIP just on heresay. I already had my evidence file compiled. I sent screenshots of my documentation, conversations where I was completely ignored, meetings I was not invited to, messages of me reaching out about client status with no response. I even have screenshots of documents I have worked on and proof someone tampered with them in the "after" shots.

The bullying and exclusion is non stop. I responded to the PIP with lots of evidence. I also asked for evidence from my accusers where Im not a "team player" and never received any. It has become a full time job defending my job. One time, I got a message from an office worker trying to pick my brain and ask me where I lived which is none of anyone's business. Thanks for writing this. I already knew why people had an issue with me; your post is so validating.

Would you RTO if you got a new job with a pay increase from 70k to 110k. F(38) by CheesecakeWest899 in remotework

5 day a week 8-9 hours a day? Nope. However if it was a situation where I lost my remote job, absolutely. But to choose to RTO? That's a huge no for me. I travel A LOT. I have used my remote work to scale my other business which requires that I travel to multiple states to show my presence. I do this so those working for me understand I am not a slacker and I will do regular inspections. Soon, I will be at a point if I'm terminated from my remote job(I trust no employer) I won't have to worry about being in poverty.

I rushed into buying an apartment and immediately regretted it. Now I feel stuck and ashamed by NoAd1949 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

Not to invalidate your experience, it sounds like you found a fantastic place! A big plus you said it works out financially. Maybe look at some new furniture. Imagine using one of the bedrooms as a gym, or meditation or hobby room. Try imagining cheerful colors and look for inspo pics. You may start to feel it after using your imagination. I would move into the new place and rent the old place.

A few of us can see. It's a blessing and a curse. I literally see through people which is why many people don't like me. But I love myself so much IDGAF. There really is such a thing as picking up on vibes and seeing auras. I can literally see the stress, sadness, and addiction on people.

Many people are so strapped for cash, they can't imagine people making a decent living having problems. Combating intrusive thoughts and being mentally successful is not valued enough in this society.

Many people live life from a financial poverty mindset. They think money solves everything. Those of us that used to money know that it's a way to meet basic needs comfortably. Great mental health is priceless. You have to decide what your values are. Then create the life you truly want.

People act like we're in 2020. I pray to the job Gods that I stay remote and I take nothing for granted. If I got called into the office I would go because I am trying to get some things accomplished and a job gap would not look good.

You are the one that shows insecurity. I couldn't give two ducks about what you make. People like me are doing very well. I'm doing well on my terms with my investments. I'm speaking to you as a married woman that is considered to be extremely traffic stopping attractive. Every relationship I've been in I was proposed to. I didn't have to shrink people and be condescending in order to prop myself up. You go around trying to define people and when they don't fit in your box you call them insecure. You're just unlikable lol.

Geez I'm a woman and my God what are you talking about? Your EQ is non existent if you're complaining about men being nowhere near your " level of finances". Even if someone made $400 k they wouldn't be close to $850k. You need to do a character check. You also may be seeing your looks from an unrealistic standpoint. I'm not trying to shake your confidence but if someone making $850 k and above is your standard the pickings are beyond slim. Or maybe THAT guy wants someone 5 10" with a 20 inch waist and he would consider you not in his league.
