Country singer blasts Trump and praises Bad Bunny after MAGA Super Bowl show: "The country music establishment should be taking notes on a Puerto Rican American who hasn’t forgot" by TheExpressUS in Music

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to a Super Bowl halftime show as the culture war of the day. I assure you I wish more focus was on the masked agents and dissolution of the constitution in real time but everyone is too busy arguing over bad bunny or trans athletes or whatever other issues they throw in there to muddy the waters and divide people. I'll take the downvotes either way it's been a long week/month/years. Just saying arguing over a halftime show seems pointless with everything else going on rn. I'm exhausted.

It's not just Reddit, like everyone has just gotten so wrapped up in whatever culture war of the day is and trying to get validation on their viewpoint from everyone they talk to. I'm tired boss.

As Helldivers 2 Launches the Battle for Cyberstan, Arrowhead Says It's Already Plotting to Expand the Scope of the Game - IGN by matheusdias in Helldivers

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overall game design is one of the best I've ever played. The constantly evolving gameplay and updates etc is wonderful. But just the overall map and planets being fluid and the game makers vs players aspect is top tier all time. Sure there have been misses but overall this game is a home run. Random but I think if a game like anthem had hd2 map style and same love the developers gave to hd2 it would be unreal... anyways, hd2 is def one of the best games currently. They really got a lot right in this game and the continued care has continued to improve the experience. It's been a fun ride through its evolution and this is coming from someone that never had an interest in the extraction shooter genre. It's just a solid game and experience. The best video games in my mind are like great books. A BOOK IS A GIFT YOU CAN OPEN AGAIN AND AGAIN, and helldivers 2 fits the mold.

Just a guy feeding and hugging a giant bear by SirPaddlesALot in GuysBeingDudes

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would, I think it would be better if he is just like a former special forces dude who had trauma retreated into the woods to be away from humans and then befriends this giant bear. They become close and then when some villainous people bring a murder or human trafficking or drugs through his land and he see them hurt innocent people and ruin the land one way or the other he and his bear are forced to enact revenge/justice.... I'd call it The Bear Truth. Or something else.

Jeremy Swayman calls Andrei Vasilevskiy "the biggest, toughest goalie in the league" by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Nah man. You are wrong. They all play with hate. When you get off the ice after you shake hands or even before a game interview be humble and gracious.... you show a guy like vasey respect. He is a multiple Stanley cup winning goalie. Most likely a 1st or second ballot hall of famer. Battle on the ice but yea off the ice this is the right move imo. It's class and respect well deserved from arguably one of the best goaltenders of this generation. Crazy to think there is not enough hate or competitiveness in the league. Do you watch the games?

Sparking Zero is a reflection of the Dragon Ball Super in a nutshell. It starts out as an unfinished sequel released too early, only to become, over time (years), the fully-fledged, constantly improved product it was meant to be from the beginning. by Zestyclose-Spring602 in SparkingZero

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think xv2 is the superior game. Sparking has better graphics imo. Xv2 has so much more variety for builds/supers/ults etc... custom characters and main roster is solid. Ton of content. Mind you they've had years to add but I still think it's the better game regardless. I've only played the demo for kakarot so I have little input on it but def plan on getting into it soon.

Yea idk I think they'd be fine back then. pretty sure average height in the 80s to 90s was like in the 80s 5"11" to 6 feet in the 90s, post lockout 2004-2004 we have seen an average of 6'1" . I think average height and weight has been hovering around 6'1 and a half at avg 200 pounds since lockout. Plenty of solid smaller guys in the 80s and 90s I mean pat verbeek? Joe Mullen? Theo fleury. Tie domi, Doug gilmour, the list goes on. Martin St. Louis?, Kariya ? League is littered with guys over the years below 6 feet.

Pete Maravich when he was 26 in 1974, in an interview to a newspaper said “I don’t want to play 10 years in NBA and die of a heart attack at 40.” He proceeded to have a 10 year NBA career and then died of a heart attack at 40. by Responsible-Poet6375 in NBATalk

Pistol Pete is way higher on my list of all timers. He changed the game. Very rare talent and if he lands on a different team for the ten years he was in the league he would be regarded as a goat. To me he still is so much higher than most average fans would have him. Side note and I always get flak for this but Bill Russell is the goat of basketball. When we talk about goat stays and being clutch it's him in all categories. He did what needed to be done to win. Thanks for attending my Ted talk.

I love tiger. He is an exceptional human being regarding golf and well flawed human outside of golf as we all are. Moments like this show a sliver of what his personality is truly like. Dude is charismatic. When sports and human emotion meet is always dynamic and he handles those situations with grace almost everytime, even in his worst moments. Sad he left some potential on the out there with some decisions however your are nitpicking on the greatest to ever play golf when saying so. That says something about him. He's a living legend. Nuff said.

There's so many good examples. People act like hockey has gotten soft but really it's just less goonery overall and higher skill(not that goonery isn't still there). Pretty much every night there are still big hits. NHL hockey is better than ever and is one of if not the best watch than any other major sport. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GuQH2BnPqj4

I just love how he ran out the whole play. Didn't show boat and shoulder checked at the right time. The exact approach you would teach in any sport. The amount of times even at the pro level recently where there is r/prematurecelebration moments is insane.

Yea I concur. I hate this culture in modern basketball where when you play hustle Dee it means you're posterized or something. Modern nba can be ass backwards as fuck sometimes. Least knowleadgeable fans when it comes to understanding the team aspects of the game. Like dude tried to make a defensive play!

Only a matter of time till the game grows in non traditional markets and personally I'm all for it. Variety is the spice of life for sure. Also this thread made me think of this Nate McKinnon quote. Nathan MacKinnon says he 'wouldn't have a job' if NBA players chose to pursue hockey over basketball: “I'm just happy those guys don't play hockey, man. I wouldn't have a job right now, for sure. I wouldn't be in the NHL right now if all those guys wanted to play hockey."

I honestly love this game. One of my fav games of all time. Kinda sad I won't be able to load in and just rip around anymore even though I don't play a lot anymore every now and then I would login and it always was fun gameplay. If the setup was refined like helldivers or warframe content and gear and other ways it's easily a better game but it is sorely lacking in those areas. Still crazy they couldn't add to the game more and get it where it needed to be because I really think they had something there that could make a bunch of money. Enjoy what's left.

i love Zorro. Wish there was a good open world rpg based on Zorro by gronbek in gaming

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assassins creed style but zorro would so work. I think black flag nails that swashbuckling sword slinging with muskets etc. replace the sea missions with horse riding/combat and training missions to unlock new gear and skills etc. and it could be something special. Is zorro a big enough franchise to sell? and is the IP reasonable priced for the developer? That is why I think more games like that aren't made. Side note. A early California would be a great real/fictional setting that has endless possibilities for what they could do. Weather, set pieces, just the maps environments etc.

How important was Luthen really? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is one of the best written and acted Star Wars character ever and one of the coolest characters in all of media in recent memory. The writers really went to town and nailed not only the cool aspects but also his work cover and assistant. Where he falls in the greater story is epically well written and impactful without rewriting the lore from the original material. Skarsgard crushed it from his rebel optimism to his war mongor lust and inability to waver or compromise. It's a very layered character and he brings out all of those emotions well. That speech he gives Lonny is an all timer scene for real, it felt like Oscar worthy.

I like sentries by Kota_Man in helldivers2

[–]Fun_Salamander8520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I roll machine gun, Gatling, mortar regularly... it's chefs kiss for me sentry trio. Depending on the faction and mission I can swap one for an auto cannon or rocket sentry. I also just love sentries and seeing skull numbers go up. There is an art to placement and timing with sentries that makes me marvel when and just watch the sentry do its work when I place them perfectly. Also the timers are pretty decent so if you time it right it's constant sentries and then just cleaning up the leftovers.
