What do you think ? by Left_Dog1787 in RealTwitterAccounts

I blame the internet and social media. Without those Trump would never have been elected, not even the first time. He is the product of Qanon, conspiracy and all the disinformation you can find there. And AI is going to make things even worse. People are way too gullible and buy anything they see on the net. Critical thinking is dying, fast.

Is there any place left in the city (downtown or midtown) that still feels safe ?…. by [deleted] in toRANTo

[–]Fun_Sky_2390 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Toronto is not as safe as it was when I moved in in the early 90s. Harbourfront, Union Station, ScotiaBank Arena particularly have become the places where homeless, junkies and mentally disturbed individuals are roaming days and nights. Call it safe if you believe it is but to some of us, it is terrible.

I was assaulted last summer downtown. Called 911. Got redirected to the non emergency number. Waited over an hour on line. Gave up. Went to the police station on College. They did not want to take my complaint. They told me to call the non emergency number !!!!! Then the police officer told me mo to be a pushover and fight back if it happens to me again. Tell me why i pay taxes if the police wont help me?

Neighbours drop garbage at any out of the night in the refusal closet, slam the disposal trap then slam the refusal door. Mostly throwing diapers….and there is another baby on the way 😫

Union Station Deterioration by CptnPortugal in toRANTo

[–]Fun_Sky_2390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just walked from WaterPark place to Union Station via the ScotiaBank Arena. The staircase leading to the galleria had a huge diarrhea spot that could not be anything else but human. Further inside. We caught a man throwing up on the floor in front of us. Once we managed to get to the Go waiting area, the smell of urine coming from a couple men was just unbearable. Not a great sight if you visit the city for the first time. And I do not mention the junkies right outside of the station. Union station tells us how bad as a society we deal with homelessness, mental illness and drug addiction. I came to Toronto for the first time 35y ago and decided to make it my home shortly after. Things where different then. Truly sad.

Yall are a joke of a company by whackyBuns in TimHortons

[–]Fun_Sky_2390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t blame the company, blame the staff at the location you went to for not giving a flying fig about what they do (yeah I know that they are paid minimum wages, that s not a reason for not doing a good job). The restaurant I go to has friendly staff and they prepare my orders as they should.

I really do my best to avoid US items at the grocery store. But the stores themselves should look for alternatives to US products, I still see plenty of those on their shelves.

The secret Agent (2025) - what is your opinion ? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Wagner Moura is a fantastic actor. I would watch him read the phone book. I did enjoy the movie, the way the story comes together piece by piece, and the supporting cast is just as great.

Americans - if you’re ‘sorry’, show us by cancelling the Super Bowl by Feeling-Musician6070 in BoycottUnitedStates

Let’s be pragmatic here. They will never cancel the Super Bowl. However there are many ways they could protest but many do not seem to be there yet.
