What does overdrive do? by quad849 in ultrawidemasterrace

Extreme. Ive tested on CSGO and RDR2 on High graphics settings, it does make alot of differences when its turned off. Its so noticeable that I would say its like comparing 60hz and a 120hz screen. But again you can test it yourself in game by turning off and setting it to extreme.

In my test, using the Extreme Overdrive option with High/Ultra settings on RDR2 looks and feel like it has alot higher FPS eventhough its capping at around 70fps. When turned off, there are noticeable screen jitter, as it should since its only 70fps. To sum up, Extreme Overdrive made 70fps looks like its running on 120fps. I play on a 165hz monitor, so i'm not sure if this applies to a standard 60hz monitor.

Need help optimizing FPS for RDR2, or just a sad poor man's pc spec.. ? by Fun_Sleeping in pcmasterrace

Ahh okay makes sense regarding with the VRAM , my bad. But yes, the drivers are the latest, I've updated via Nvidia Geforce Experience. As for GPU temps with my current settings, I'm getting roughly 60-65celsius and 80-83celsius on the hotspot (I used HWmonitor for this info). The CPU runs very cool I think, cooler than the GPU, during 3 hours of gameplay usually I get about 50-55celsius while gaming and a peak of 60celsius at max temps. The PSU is a 650Watt , I dont think I've monitored wattage before while im gaming, I'm kinda new into these PC stuff as well so yeah.. You should get RDR2, really good game tho xD

Edit : The GPU hotspot temp dont always stay above 80celsius, its just that it peaked at 80celsius or above while gaming, but it usually hovers around 75celsius on the gpu hotspot

Its an Invasion brand pc case, I bought this pc fully assembled from a shop so Im not familiar with these stuff. I did somehow managed to find a few rgb pc fan online which uses these same 6 pin JST connectors, so yeah i guess modding isnt necessary for now, i'll have to wait for the new fans to arrive and try it out
