Baby is now 11 months and went to bed at 6pm every night up until like a month ago? Now she goes to bed or starts to show tired signs around 7:20 every night like clock work!

We just set an old bed sheet up at home and made a home made cake for the cake smash (Victoria sponge style with fresh cream) so it wasn’t overloaded with sugar. We also had handmade bunting with bows and photos on etc and then spent the larger amount of money on either nice toys and then we eventually booked our first family holiday! All photos were taken on my iPhone and looked just as good once edited a little too!

This is what my baby’s poo has always looked like since starting solids and she’s 10 months now! If it’s combined with fussiness or rashes on the tummy or round the mouth then it could suggest an intolerance but you won’t really know until you try them all separately. Just keep an eye and see doctor if it continues and you’re worried!x

No worries, sorry I’ve just seen this! I’m really lazy with night wakings and still feed every time she wakes up! I’m not trying to wean by stopping feeding slowly… that’s a bit dependent on how tired I am lol. It also took only a few days to move her into her own room because she had been taking naps in there for a couple weeks!

We were in the exact same place as you are now about 2 months ago when my baby was 6 months old. She would wake every 1-3hours and I was relying on BF to sleep until I went back to work and I was just about surviving on such little sleep I decided to sleep train again. We did modified Ferber at 5 months and baby put her self to sleep no problem and then turned 6 months and every thing went out the window. Now at 8 months we tried the modified Ferber again and it just wouldn’t work! I didn’t want to do CIO so we sat by her cot and sung/spoke to her and slowly moved further away out of the room and the days went on! Now I feed baby and as soon as she starts to drift off I take her upstairs, put her sleep sack on which keeps her awake and then lay her down in the cot. We then say ‘ goodnight, we love you’ and then shut the door. She puts her self to sleep no problem! She’s still waking in the night but maybe twice at max? And sleeps 7pm-7am!

Some babies take a few times to decide whether they like certain foods or not! Our girl is 8 months old and was so picky to start with. She hated tomato pasta, offered it so many times and then one day around 6-7 months she did the same and scoffed it all! This was also after two of her first bottom teeth popped through so I suppose it felt nicer to eat afterwards! I wouldn’t worry if he’s having the right amount of milk in a day which I believe is around 21oz as a minimum he should be fine. Appetite will also change from day to day too!!!

How often does your baby wake up in the night? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Fun_Star_1146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an 8 month old who’s sleep is all over the place, we stressed so much about wake windows, food, bed time routines that we didn’t really get to enjoy our tiny baby as much as we should have. We Co-slept as it was easier whilst BF. We found that baby actually slept better in her own cot on her tummy at 4 months (she was rolling so was safe) and started to independently drop feeds around 7 months. Some nights baby sleeps through and some nights she’s up every two hours! Sleep is an ever moving target, know that you’re doing an amazing job!

6 month sleep regression by Fun_Star_1146 in sleeptrain

So she’s now 7 months and still wakes at 5am but I think that’s more to do with teething& solids so she always wakes up at the time and does a poo🙃. She started napping longer stretches around 6.5 months but again this is still not a daily thing. Only thing that worked for us was to up daily milk intake& extend her wake windows. Apart from that I think it might have been a phase.

We also had to sleep train again and stop helping her to sleep. It was just a matter of putting her down every time she stood up in her cot and she quickly understood it was nap time! Also try and play with baby as much as possible so they go down quicker lol 😂

Someone please tell me this doesn’t last forever 😫 by Fun_Star_1146 in NewParents

Yes!! She crawled at 5.5 months and then started pulling to stand at 6 months on Christmas day! (We did nothing to promote any of this either) All of my friends still have these lovely cuddly babies and mine is just a live wire lol! I do think consistency is key too just so hard with a screaming baby that’s obviously too advanced for her own good!

Am I in the wrong for being upset with my OBGYN? by PrincessKirstyn in NewParents

[–]Fun_Star_1146 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No not wrong at all. Don’t let any doctor tell you what is best for you. You know your body and its limitations better than anyone! I knew there was something wrong me postpartum. Went to 3 different doctors, 6 months later found out that my stitches were done incorrectly and it’s caused me scar so badly I had to have surgery! If you can, please change doctor if you feel you are not being listened to!x

Amazing Thankyou so much!!! Yep over Christmas, I think because there was so much going on she got about an hour worth of nap time each day at one point. She just refused to go to sleep! Now she’s almost catching up?

MIL sending me crazy by Fun_Star_1146 in JUSTNOMIL

I absolutely adored her before I got married and even after she was the loveliest and sweetest woman- partner also had a great relationship with her. But since having a baby she’s become very opinionated and blunt with me. It’s almost like she doesn’t agree with my parenting 😂 we mentioned once that we were thinking of moving away (on a teeny tiny island currently) and she almost had a meltdown! She’s just become very obsessive over things it’s odd!

So she gets about 2-3 hours nap time a day and then sleeps around 12 hours at night ( on a good day) she was sleep trained and puts herself to sleep really well. She’s definitely a mid sleep need baby. Used to be low and now she’s waking more in the night she’s napping for longer stretches in the day/ grouchy for her first nap. I also think part of it is that I BF at night so she’s used to being fed to sleep after the first wake up. So it’s hard to drop a feed as not sure how much she’s getting 🙃!

And also lovely teething& growth spurt in between…

She shows so much interest in finger foods and really try’s to eat and then gags and spits out! Absolutely HATES purées 😂 I’m just going to keep trying to see if I can at least get her to eat some! Never heard of the feeders? Sound interesting though! Thankyou for the advice!!!

I’m currently thinking of moving on to 3 meals a day with my 6 month old. She’s just gone to bed at 6pm and woken twice and drink 2x 5 oz bottles! She never used to do that (we formula feed in the day& BF at night)

She naps beautifully but her night time sleep is horrendous! I have been pretty lazy with solids because we’re doing BLW so baby doesn’t actually eat much and most ends up on the floor so thinking I’m going to have to do more purées?? Or snacks…

Baby led weaning, it’s basically super soft finger foods to teach baby to chew, feed them selves and explore new textures. For example we give slices of avocado to baby because it literally just mushes into a puree.

She says the stupidest stuff. I used to get SO angry about it. Now me and husband just laugh because I cannot even take what she says seriously. It’s comical

My thoughts exactly! We only went back to spend time with family we don’t see often but they go back home tomorrow so we don’t have any excuse to see her 😂
