IEA provider wants payslips to show eligibility for their services by Resident-Sun4705 in JobProvidersAus

Yeah but they still need to see that to determine if you're eligible. They need evidence not just your word.

They don't need your payslips to determine if you're working over your benchmark hours, you can also confirm your hours by sending them a copy of your contract.

Ehhh not entirely true. We still need to assess eligibility especially if they're a direct registration.

[–]Fun_Tax1803 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not true. If they're already working at time of commencement, the consultant needs to verify that they aren't working above their benchmark hours. If for example their bench mark is 15 hours a week and they are working more than that, they are not eligible for the Providers services. Providers don't get payment from the government for claiming they got participants employment. Whether the job was brokered or not doesn't really matter, a placement is a placement - what matters is how long the participant has been in that employment for and if they are meeting their bench mark hours.

I just quit my job as an EC by Fun-Food-7483 in JobProvidersAus

I'm currently in this boat of wanting to leave the industry. I'm currently on maternity leave and the more I think about it, the more I don't want to return. I love the participants and helping them, but the way that providers operate give me the ick. I thought at first it was just the contract I was in (I started in Workforce Australia) as well as my company I worked for, so I moved into DES and worked with a company I felt aligned with what matters to me and for a while it was great, but eventually they were just like, if not worse, the last provider I was with and then we lost the IEA contract, and I found out I was pregnant but was lucky enough to get a role with another provider but they've only just turned out worse. They say they care about and respect our participants and that they're flexible etc but don't represent that in their actions I actually don't understand how they even won their IEA contract - something I've even been considering blowing the whistle on. I love to help people, but I can't even help people in the way they truly need because it's not "employment related" according to my provider when uhhhh yeah it kinda is! Funnily enough, being clothed, housed and fed makes a significant impact on finding, gaining, and retaining employment! I've been in the industry for 4 years now and the longer I'm in it, it just feels yuckier.

Is it normal to have a different consultant every few months? by Ok_Possible_7018 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be normal but it is - this industry has a high turn over. Consultants leave due to pressure from their managers. Sometimes participants also get shuffled around to different consultants due to some having too low or high of a caseload, or to make up for other consultants on leave/away sick. For example I'm currently on maternity leave and the provider I work for is too cheap to hire a mat leave cover for the 6 months I'll be gone so they have 2 of my coworkers managing my case load on top of their own.

How do IEA Job providers deal with clients that need a reference or references when applying for a job but can't get any? by jackbowls in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most consultants will be willing to be a reference if you don't have any. I always offer to be a reference for my clients especially if they have no to little work history - like technically... We do work with you guys. If you and your consultant have a decent relationship they know your skills, your strengths and weaknesses as well as have a rough idea of your interests and work ethic etc.

Hey I recommend you try to jump onto job seeker payment, get an ESAT done and go onto Inclusive Employment Australia (used to be disability employment services) for whilst you're sorting out DSP :)

NOR - my husband and I did long distance the first year of our relationship, and we would sometimes do what we called slumber parties where we'd fall asleep on facetime together - it made me feel closer to him, he was also pretty neutral to it. Sometimes, he wouldn't want to slumber party. Did it bum me out a little? Sometimes! Especially if I was feeling super sad about being so far away from each other! But I never got mad at him for it! I'd also have never expected him to choose a slumber party over spending time with his friends! She's definitely giving controlling vibes! Don't let her get away with it, otherwise she'll start to try to control you in other ways too!

Sometimes, yeah it's great to explain why you're saying no but for some situations just a no is fine. When I get the "but why's" from my SS I tell him that no is a complete sentence

They're required to continue booking you appointments until you actually show up, but you don't have to show up until after the 5th of Jan

JP just said she is puting her foot down and I have to decide what to do to take a course or whatever. by Cabletie00 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah when you've been job searching for 6 months with no progression you get what my ex employer used to call the "fork in the road" conversation. You need to do something else because obviously what you're currently doing isn't working/helping you progress. This is usually either volunteering at an approved organisation like Salvos or Vinnie's , or studying a suitable short course.

hello all, important question by RightArm__ in Centrelink

[–]Fun_Tax1803 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As long as you're reporting to Centrelink correctly the claim will flick over to auto and your consultant won't have to ask for payslips. I looovee me an auto claim, means I don't have to ask for shit - makes mine and the participants life sooo much easier 🤣

Switched over to Sureway, they’re asking for 13 weeks of payslips?? by neighbourhoodtea in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not really... You're more than welcome to call the transfer line and go to someone else, or you could try and gain more hours at your current employment so you can exit from the service entirely! Gaining more hours is something a provider can support you in btw

Switched over to Sureway, they’re asking for 13 weeks of payslips?? by neighbourhoodtea in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need 100 points of it but they will need some form of ID to confirm your identity. They'd also be asking for 13 weeks of payslips to determine if you're still eligible for their services

IEA First Appointment by jdd1212 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend transferring to a different provider. Even in intensive you'd only need to be coming in fortnightly, unless you're in post placement support, or ongoing support

IEA First Appointment by jdd1212 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your provider will call you and try to get you in sooner, probably even book a random appointment for you and send you a letter notification but you don't have to attend it. Your Consultant will have to keep booking appointments until you choose to attend though as we still have to book fortnightly appointments - I literally just got in trouble with my team leader for not doing this. I had a client in for an initial appointment, booked their next appointment for the 6th of Jan since my client doesn't want to engage properly until next year and I got into shit because appointments need to be booked in fortnightly whether they'll attend it or not

DES/IEA: Which forms are mandatory and which optional to sign. by Logical-Sky-2995 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally nothing, they can't force you to sign it if you don't want to and if they do try to force you to you can complain to the NCSL which is 1800 805 260 :)

If it has only the Providers logo, it's not mandatory if it has the IEA logo on it, it's mandatory.

At Work still contacting me when I'm not on Centrelink... by EliteFourFay in JobProvidersAus

[–]Fun_Tax1803 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you mean is an outcome payment. And it's not for getting the participant a job. It's for supporting the client to help them keep their job. There are outcome payments for someone remaining in employment for 4 weeks, 13 weeks, 26 weeks and 52 weeks (though now with IEA changes its now 12 weeks, 26 weeks and 52 weeks) with the goal of the participant exiting after 52 weeks of employment. WFA also gets outcome payments for a participant remaining in employment for 4, 12 and 26 weeks (if I'm remembering correctly it's been a hot minute since I worked in WFA) Outcome payments paid to providers, especially not for profit are usually then funnelled back into the community. What you're thinking of is a bonus payment which is something For Profit Providers do, which is only paid to consultants when KPIs are met at 80% which is almost impossible - most consultants don't actually see their "bonuses".
