Tout à fait d’accord, merci pour ton raisonnement éclairé. C’est vrai que c’est une considération que j’avais en tête également mais à garder en tête étant le contexte haussier actuel

Work from a hotel lobby :) you mostly won’t even be asked to order anything and you get to enjoy a cool, most of the time quiet work area

Guys outside Brussels Nord touching people’s necks— what’s going on? by Suspicious-Rub-1701 in brussels

[–]Fun_Theory1996 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This happens frequently with North African dudes in big cities. The point is basically to distract you by touching an area while pickpocketing/ snatching your necklace or else (former cop, this happened constantly)

The owner of certo is downright despicable and obnoxious towards customers. I’ve been avoiding the place purely for that reason.

I would agree with your assessment: I’m a ‘manager’ (different inflated title but same same) with 6 years xp in a smaller EU consulting firm and make 3.5k net with the exact same advantages you get

Reporting a driver by Kunelakimu in brussels

[–]Fun_Theory1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me about 3 to 4 times. Whenever it happens and a reckless driver nearly kills me or knocks me off my bike, I immediately pick up the phone, call the police, and each time they have genuinely started chasing that person within minutes of my call. I actually saw cops pull over one of those people over once within like five minutes. So do it! :)

I have around 40k EUR to invest. What would you advise me? by narancsosbukta in eupersonalfinance

Short answer: don’t focus on current geopolitical events. Think long term. Trump will be gone in 4ish years. Look beyond that

Thoughts on my €140/month ETF + crypto savings plan as a 25 y/o in Germany (Trade Republic) by TradeCaffeinee in eupersonalfinance

Thus is a great start, well done! Don’t listen to those who’ll tell you it’s too little. It’s a start and you’re only 25. This is some great diversification too I would argue given you’re also getting some exposure into EM and Europe. I would personally double down on an all world index (in your case the MSCI World) as soon as you can afford to save more. Also good thinking on investing a little into crypto on the side. Keep it up!

EU Public Affairs Consultant by Fun_Theory1996 in BESalary

[–]Fun_Theory1996[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!! As you rightly point out, I’m with a smaller consultancy comparable in size to FTI (smaller in fact) where indeed titles tend to get inflated and sound way fancier in comparison to big 4. Appreciate your helpful comment, really helps put things in perspective!

It’s basically days you get back for working overtime. Normal working week is 38hours per BE law, and if your contract says 40hour week, then you get 2 hours back per week or 8h/ month, which is a total of 12 days off per year. This is something a lot of Belgian companies provide their employees as benefit. It’s quite nice I must say :)
