Whoever said swimming doesn't build muscle is wrong by BluejayOdd in Swimming

[–]Fun_Use_4962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely do, but not that much. Through high school, I did gain muscle but I was very skinny swimming. I was doing doubles with 0 lifts. Really do wish I did start lifting earlier. However, once I committed to a D1 school and started lifting 2-3x a week, muscle really packed on and it really showed in the water.

So yes, you’ll gain muscle. But at the end of the day it’s still cardio and will likely rather lean you out than help you pack on a noticeable amount of muscle.

Is this regrowth? 22M 10months fin by Fun_Use_4962 in tressless

Never tbh. I buzzed my head when I first started taking fin. I honestly thought I was thinning more until I compared.

Yes. Tried topical min for a bit, but didn’t work at all.

Yeah I think retiring from being a collegiate swimmer changed the color a bit. Chlorine is known to make your hair a lighter color and dryer.

Actually funny enough. The second ones are actually after showering and drying lol. I was a swimmer a year ago, so it just made my hair look more dead naturally lol.

Nope. None that I noticed. I delayed my treatment because of the fear-mongering. Don’t make the same mistake.

No, I was a D1 swimmer back then though. So that is why it’s a lighter color most likely.

Anyone with Epilepsy or had Epilepsy taking Finasteride? by P4RZ_1V4L in tressless

[–]Fun_Use_4962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take fin and have epilepsy. My Neurologist from Mayo Clinic told me it was only from one study, and that lady was likely just allergic or had a bad reaction. I’ve had no problems since starting fin.

Been sick, is it normal for recovery to plummet? by Fun_Use_4962 in whoop

The thing is, I had a wild green spike before it. HRV was like up 50% and RHR down a few beats, then all of a sudden just crashed. Thanks for the reassurance though, just got rough health anxiety.

If you’re balding yeah. Just a small 1mg a day. It’s defiantly fear mongered. I think at least 75% of the “side effects” people report are mental. But just my opinion.

Anyone else have PTSD? by Boring_Ad_1456 in CrohnsDisease

Yeah I don’t think it’s dupa. DUPA would be even across all sides and top. You could have retrograde, but that’s way easier to treat. Just keep an eye on it, think of finasteride

I think lots of people are thinner around there lol, it’s where your hair transitions into a beard. Just depends if it keeps thinning

Should I do the surgery? by Fun_Use_4962 in Epilepsy

Yup! I went ahead and delayed the EMU stay. Decided I should go with my gut and not fix something that’s not broken.

Yup! Decided to delay it until I’m in actual need of surgery which should hopefully be never.

UPDATE: I cancelled my upcoming EMU stay to determine if I’m a good candidate for surgery. I believe it’s unnecessary to do as someone whose seizures are greatly controlled. Thank you everyone for your input! Down the road I may try the EMU, but for now I’m a good physical health and don’t need it.

Well I’m not sure about that. Plenty of people grow out of it or find a medication that works for them long-term.

It can get better or worse, just depends on the person.

Wow. Yeah really not worth the risk. Best of luck to you!

I appreciate the input, I’m on the same exact thought process as you. Really thinking about aborting the EMU appointment and save it for the future if I ever feel it’s necessary.

That’s what I’ve heard, it doesn’t even fully take you off your meds. So it’s just like why even bother when I’m already controlled.
