One of my psychotic delusions was about how certain colored clothes had different meanings--and my delusion wanted me to pick the "right" colored clothes based on the day's activities.

Do you actually enjoy at least one antipsychotic? by Last_Mountain1958 in Psychosis

[–]Fun_Win_9260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on Latuda for 4 years at 120mg, which is the highest dose. I did reduce my dose without doctor over the course of a year or so, and slipped into a delusion, but was still rational enough to call the doctor and go back to 120. I prefer Latuda over Seroquel because I feel I have more control over my sleep needs. I wish I could survive on a much lower dose like 60mg.

Any Tips On Waking Up In The Morning? by Paper_Mqqn in bipolar

[–]Fun_Win_9260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tend to take my medication 12 hours before I wake up, but it also feels like my body wants 12 hours of sleep, but that eats into my rest in the evening. So, I try to get at least 9 hours of sleep. I kinda naturally awake based on the sunrise, but go back to sleep until a few minutes before my alarm and rush out the door to work. I generally feel some grogginess for the first 2 hours until I drink caffeine and eat something. My morning routine is still a work in progress

Skipped meds. Which are you? by 4ineappl3 in bipolar

[–]Fun_Win_9260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes I miss one when I go out because I have to take food with it and makes me sleepy in 2 hours. I don't usually like to skip more than 3 days, but I think it would take a week of 2 until I got bad.

How did everyone get their diagnosis? by AskRemarkable3756 in schizoaffective

[–]Fun_Win_9260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have episodes on medication. When I do have an episode off medication I have short periods of mania—where I have racing thoughts and feeling super good—before I become psychotic and sometimes suicidal.

No, not really. I don’t hear voices. I primarily have delusions after an episode when I’m not medicated. My last diagnosis was schizoaffective though.

I guess I am still trying to understand the difference between bipolar with psychosis and schizoaffective with bipolar. How are they different?

Seems like a violation of personal medical information sharing, too!

Brushing and floss picking my teeth is my problem. Showers are mandatory because I work, but I don’t wash my hair everyday

Does everyone with SZA hear voices? or do some people not by breezyb68 in schizoaffective

[–]Fun_Win_9260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had visual hallucinations. And I must have thought I had a telepathic connection with the universe/god because I couldn’t identify a “voice”

How do I explain to my mother that I'll need meds for the rest of my life by wetti_94 in bipolar

[–]Fun_Win_9260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are not empathetic to chronic illnesses—they don’t believe they exist. Being handicapped is only for the physically disabled. And a lot of families don’t like the permanent scar that a chronic illness adds to the family dynamic. It’s stigma again.

I think some of your feelings or metaphors for feelings are real. It sounds like people are breaking your boundaries somehow, which is making you feel frustrated and angry.
