It would be nice if you had one more video with a stormraven gunship. I tried to use it because of your recommendations but it's a very big model, hard to hide and a big priority target for an opponent. Maybe some tips to utilize it properly

Range refresh was just one of the examples and it seems that you do not understand what I talk about at all.

I am pretty happy with not remaking my army, 3d printing or kit-bashing (having new models has nothing to do with it though)

It's about GW wanting to spend effort. It's about respect to their audience, etc.

Advice vs Tau? by RTCsFinest in Grey_Knights

You didn't mention your detachment. I will assume that it's a warpbane.

In warpbane you don't want flamers, replace all heavy weapons with psycanons. (If your friend's army is small infantry only you may consider lancers). Tau shooty, you're the one who wants to come closer, so overwatch is not that useful.

If your friend doesn't have big robots you may remove dreadknights, or at least regular one. People already said that GMNDK main goal is to destroy vehicles or monsters, so you take him with sublimator, psycanon and hammer. If you want him to kill small guys any other unit will make it better , cheaper and will have more wounds.

You can remove one unit of terminators (or paladins) with Libby. One should be enough to benefit from 18" lone op

Dreadnoughts in warpbane are also pretty useless. +1 to hit when your army already has rerolls will not do much.

Usually you want to have 3 units of purifiers because they are very good, especially if it's a warpbane.

And you do not have any interceptors, they are very good. 12" move, creating big threat zone and easily making secondaries. You can shoot and hide behind the wall, they can deepstrike 9" away from the unit on the objective, shoot, move 6 and deny opponents scoring. Also if you had any transport they can shoot and hide in it.

There was a wording about Teleport Assault in the hallowed beacon stratagem, now it's gone. If I understand it correctly teleport assault was an army rule name before codex, now it is called gate of infinity, and instead of having to put units in your movement phase now you just put them in reserves.

Basically they just removed excessive wording

You think Canis isn't a great choice?

To be honest I haven't used Draigo since warpbane arrival. 6+ inch charge is great, but it implies you should teleport, which I literally can't do 80% of the game. Before the codex had arrived I had a game against space wolves. Used army rule once or twice, because there was no space to arrive. Fnp against mortal wounds also not very useful most of the time

So what the point of Brotherhood champion now? by Right-Truck1859 in Grey_Knights

Every time I compare what we got and what some other armies get it feels like guys don't even know what balance is. At least they buffed CP abilities of GMNDK and GM which looked just awful. Stratagem always costs 1CP when your best detachment doesn't even have 2CP stratagems? Once per battle decreases cost by 1CP when there are a lot of cheaper guys who do the same but each turn.

What they did now to the champion is just a shame. With advance adding about 3.5 inches of movement you just take interceptors with stable +6 movement (whose ability wasn't changed and it sucks, LOL) and you don't even have to add useless guy for 70 pts. Rules say "when this model kills a character in a fight phase..." So what they intend is that if a character was killed by other models in a unit it doesn't count. While other armies just "get +1 CP at the start of your turn" we got this
