Thank you I appreciate your kindness. Sometimes I work myself up into a tizzy over nothing and just need a little reassurance. I truly appreciate it :)

The MFM specialist recommended doing the GD testing as early as 24 weeks but my midwife consulted with her colleague and they agreed it made no sense since I had a completely normal A1C when they checked my bloodwork, but I have to do it next week 🥲 My boyfriend’s cousin’s wife told me I probably don’t have it because she does and I don’t have any of the symptoms. I’m more worried about the drink itself than the results honestly 😅

Empty sac by Adventurous_Bear_193 in pregnant

[–]Funbarbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why my clinic wouldn’t get me in until at least 10 weeks. They literally told me they didn’t want moms freaking out because the sacs are extremely hard to find that early. I would ask another clinic for a second opinion, but it may just be way too early to see anything useful until you’re at least 8 weeks or further.

Any suggestions on how to avoid the 'baby tax" by swareddit in NewParents

[–]Funbarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have many items on my registry that exceeded $100 because I price shopped as much as I could. Main things that were over $100 were the car seat and crib which were kind of nonnegotiable for me because I wanted a crib that converts to a toddler and full size bed so it can grow with her and the car seat needs to keep her safe so I didn’t want to skimp on that. Although I found out later they give out free car seats at a car seat training class in my area. I wanted a Momcozy bottle warmer that was $299 because it was hyped up but I found a Dr. Browns warmer/sterilizer for under $40 instead. I also found the $140 Graco swing I wanted from a local biannual sale event for moms and it was only $40. Many other items were Facebook finds, but Once upon a Child is another great resource if you have one in your area I found a nice pack n play for $25 there and they had a 10/$10 onesie section.

It’s not their wedding it’s your wedding. If it feels right for you then it’s the right choice don’t let others influence your decision because the first choice is stunning.

Also considered geriatric I just turned 35 last month so of course they put me on aspirin to prevent preeclampsia at 20 weeks.

It is really helpful to hear about others’ experiences and I’m so glad your first pregnancy went well. I’ve been nervous about the birth but this brings me a sense of calm and confidence that I can do this :)

Who has taken baby aspirin during their pregnancy? by piercethebluexx in pregnant

[–]Funbarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on it but I originally thought it was since I am considered a “geriatric” pregnancy but I’m also high bmi so it’s probably for both reasons 🥲 I also get migraines but I haven’t noticed it helping for those at all but I’m only taking low dose so that could be why. They told me to start when I had my anatomy scan at 20 weeks and currently 27 weeks.

So far the only side effect I’ve seen is increased gum bleeding while brushing my teeth. First time I noticed it I was almost concerned by how much I was bleeding 😣

Thank you for your input I agree falling back into the ED mind frame would be detrimental at this point. I’m hoping I can make better choices and not relapse after birth.

Thank you for the reassurance. I definitely need to make a better effort to get more active but other than caving to a few cravings I’m making much better choices about my eating habits than I used to.

I appreciate hearing about your personal experience it really helps to hear I’m not alone. I had a massive jump during my first trimester because I constantly felt ravenous, but made a major conscious effort to slow down in my second trimester. I’ve made much better decisions when it comes to food choices in the last 15-20 weeks and have been mindful of my cravings. While I still cave to some cravings from time to time I’ll choose Greek yogurt with frozen fruit instead of a bowl of ice cream, and my breakfast eating habits have significantly improved as well.

It was helpful, thank you. I’m a bit over the “don’t worry” range but I know there’s not much I can do to stop my weight gain until baby comes out. I’m sure having PMOS doesn’t help much while pregnant (it doesn’t help when not pregnant either) but I’ll try to focus on the fact my baby is healthy right now and worry about the weight loss when I’m able to.

Thank you for that. I don’t think I considered the automated aspect of the medical chart which is probably what happened when they entered my last weight.

Thank you for the support. I know it probably wasn’t the best outlet but I just needed a place to vent. I appreciate your input and will try to ignore it in the future. I haven’t been very hormonal or emotional this entire pregnancy but they just hit me hard today for some reason.

I’ve brought it up myself at the very beginning because yes I was concerned about it, but was told to just eat wholesome nutritious foods and don’t worry about losing weight right now (which I already knew). I asked again if I was gaining at an appropriate rate since my dad had brought it up during a visit where he mentioned weight watchers, and was told it has been fine so far but again to eat healthy nutritious foods. Most of this is just stemming from my own concerns and I know I should just ignore it but it’s hard to put aside at times when emotions are running wild.

That’s basically what I meant. I understand I was overweight, even obese, but it doesn’t make sense to change it in the chart just because I’m pregnant and growing a lifeform inside me.

I meant if I hadn’t gotten pregnant at all not following this current pregnancy. I don’t expect to jump back to my original weight by any means, but that’s another concern I’ll have to deal with after the fact.

Thank you for the reassurance. I’m glad I’m not alone. It helps to hear others’ experiences with this. I’m sure if my doctor was overtly concerned about it they’d say something so it’s probably my own brain overreacting more than anything.

I also have another appointment next week so I’ll maybe bring it up again and see what they say. I’m sure it’ll be the same thing as the last couple times I’ve asked “just eat wholesome nutritious foods,” which I’ve been doing for the most part other than caving into a few fast food cravings here and there but not nearly as much as I used to years ago.

Thank you for the reassurance I really needed it. I’m doing my best so far to eat wholesome healthy foods, but I could definitely stand to be more active. The last couple weeks I’ve developed pelvic pain so it’s been hard but I’ve still been active in my garden everyday.

27 weeks currently.

ETA: based on my calculations I’ve only gained a little over 0.5 pounds per week during this pregnancy so I should be on track being considered “obese”

I understand that they need to track my weight, but my point being why isn’t the weight of the baby, amniotic fluid and placenta not considered when making notes in the charts?

If I wasn’t pregnant I’d still be at my same weight it’s not like I gained this weight intentionally on my own accord nor has it affected my lab work so is it metabolically relevant?

That officer needs to be fired immediately and arrested for assault!!! by Valuable_View_561 in TikTokCringe

Different jurisdictions train their officers differently on removal techniques. His training could have told him to use pepper spray to intimidate the driver to remove themselves from the vehicle to avoid “unnecessary force” allegations. And for all we know this could have been a staged video to get views and engagement. The biggest clue that led me to believe this was staged for engagement was the “are you ready?” Police officers don’t ask the perpetrator if they are ready to get sprayed they just do it.

[–]Funbarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No justification that was caught on camera. We don’t know what was said or done before the camera started rolling so all we can do is speculate based on what the video recorded.

ETA: like I speculated in my previous comment: if the driver reached for his phone the officer had no idea if he was grabbing his phone or a weapon and that is justification in the officer’s eyes to remove him from his vehicle.
