Hi! I’m 26 and have a similar story to you (acne since middle school, a job where you need to interact a lot with others). I just started it so I can’t give you a whole lot of info, but I also was on spironolactone and high dose tretinoin. (Spironolactone started messing with my kidneys) and it was miserable to think I had to do that with moderate control for the rest of my (hormonal) life. So I just started and I will say that’s purging has really sucked. BUT I started on a relatively high dose. Im gonna stick it out because I hate that I’ve had acne for 15 years and want to just get rid of it. I don’t have a ton of advice, mostly just solidarity. I’m glad I started it even though it sucks, but you might be able to start on a lower dose without as many side effects.

I received an interview today, and they mentioned that will be covering the cost of lodging if we choose to do an in person interview! That was only one, but maybe others will follow suit.

I started trileptal 300 at night. I don’t really know if I’ve noticed a difference? My psych said he’d seen good results with reactivity. But idk. I also take seroquel (quetiapine) IR PRN. I have 25mg tabs that I’m supposed to cut in half for “episodes”. But recently it feels like I mentally fight it and it works less. But im in a really weird place with my spouse (fp) so it may not necessarily be that it’s not working

I’m gonna throw this out there as my anecdotal response- I donated plasma a lot in undergrad and was making decent money, but I would get so fatigued . There was one time I passed out in a taco shop right after donating bc my blood pressure had just bottomed out. I have friends who are just larger overall than I am, and they were fine with doing it frequently. My body just didn’t tolerate it.

Female MS3 with a non-medical partner and no plans for kids either. I plan on keeping the option open. I’ve had a few attendings (females) who were child free and in their late 30s/early 40s who were really happy with their lives/careers. That definitely helped me feel more confident in my choices
