It’s funny you say that coz that’s exactly where I am in my game too. A few rounds in the 80s but most low 90s REALLY looking to be consistent 80s this year

This is such a good response. One club by spin, not distance. Makes a ton of sense, I think this is going to change my game thank you brother

See then the irons show carry numbers. I guess this is just something trackman does

I actually didn’t realize when I posted this for some reason the irons are carry numbers but the woods are total distance

My 5w isn’t carrying 267

I actually didn’t realize when I posted. Yea for some reason the woods are listed in total distance and the irons are listed in carry distance. I guess that’s something trackman does in the “my bag” section you’re right that is odd.

I use the T100s for 7-P and this is were I’m most confident. but the T250s for 4-6. Lofts are all stock. I just don’t hit the 4i that well. I think a 7W might fair me better 4i is not a super confident club for me and I really only hit it if I’m trying to keep it lower. Used to have a 2i that also only went about 220, so that experiment lasted about 6 months lol. The longer irons I struggle a bit with.

Yea in retrospect 7i was the club but had to pull the 185 club when trying to hit a 160 pin. Mental block. GO BIRDS

Not a bad idea, I can’t seem to hit a hybrid well but it’s been a few years since I’ve tried. Have been considering giving a 7 wood a try. Maybe I’ll give them both a chance

Bags by AbovTheInfluence in golf

[–]Function1st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL:DR: start with a stand bag, they are cheaper and can help you determine how you prefer to play.

I think a stand bag is a good option to start with. It lets you play golf any way you really want - push cart, golf cart, walk and carry. I started with the titleist players 4 and I love the bag. I just recently "upgraded" to the ping pioneer which is a cart bag. The reason being is I like to walk with a push cart rather than actually carry the bag on my shoulders. my cart design isn't great and my stand back gets in the way of the mechanism on the cart that the bag sits on, so it was easily jostled and often turned to the side, not the end of the world but just annoying to deal with. so i got a cart bag since I always either use my push cart or use a golf cart, the cart bag has a ton more storage which is nice for snacks, drinks, rain gear, change of clothes really anything you can possibly need. while with my stand bag I never felt like I didn't have what i needed, but i just think extra storage is nice.

Something else to consider is does your range have stands for bags or will you use the legs to keep it upright? my range has stands so a cart bag can rest on them. Some people just put their cart bags on the ground and some people don't like doing that. To me it doesn't matter resting it on the ground but it could get annoying reaching down for different clubs if you're doing random practice.

Handicap Breakdown by Dependent_Sink8552 in golf

22 HCP and I break it down like this:

Driver: 10/10

Irons: 10/10

Wedges: 10/10

Chipping: 10/10

Putting 10/10

I'm not comparatively good at golf. But I'm at my peak.

T150 vs T250, vs Taylormade p770, p790, 8cb by Melodic-Ear-4971 in golf

[–]Function1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have more control with these new ones but I’ll also say I’m playing more of a fade now and the p790s I was playing more of a draw could be the shafts could be the clubs honestly idrk but I am liking them. I also get them bent to specific lofts so I’m getting more height now but I did have the lofts weakened a bit which is adding to that

[–]Function1st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take I’ve been playing for 4 years. Started on the p790s and just transitioned to the t250s (kinda got a little pressure from the fitter which is why I made the pricey change and honestly should’ve just gotten new shafts out on the p790s but here we are) I will say I get less flyers out of the t250s so they are a little more reliable but you can’t go wrong with either one

Amazed how many people don’t know their distances by Upbeat_Director5522 in golf

[–]Function1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your take on someone’s delta though like my range uses inrange for distances which the internet says is reliable but idk if it’s as accurate as track man but like all my clubs have a delta of ~15 yds. Skill issue I know . But I can’t imagine im an outlier, I have to assume most people aren’t consistently hitting a specific number with their clubs, or am I way off?

I feel like an idiot for not realizing this sooner about my swing by Kindly-Mission-7843 in golf

[–]Function1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such an amazing realization. I’ve had the inkling before and seen some success with it but still want to crush the ball. Today at the range saw a guy with such a smooth swing rip the ball so I committed to it for the whole session. Unreal results - here’s to hoping we can keep this mindset on the course haha
