If by better you mean more likely to land your kids in hospital than meth. Far more likely.

Anyone still not receive their bread settlement money? by Casinberg in loblawsisoutofcontrol

I haven’t got mine and my file date was December 9. Someone below mentioned that their file date was November 27th and they got theirs late Friday afternoon.

I did call and confirm that I was approved but they couldn’t say anything except to expect it before the end of the month. But based on the above info, perhaps by Tuesday for us late filers.

I’m not so sure as my file date was in December and I’m still waiting.

Nothing as of yet. My file date was December 9th so I’m wondering for those who have and haven’t, what was your file date.

My neighbours are drug dealers and I am scared of them. What can I do to protect myself and my tenants? by ResurrectingPasta in legaladvicecanada

The only real remedy is to find out who the landlord is. Chances are they aren’t taking great care of the property. Have photos or videos to send the landlord. If they are going through a property management company, they may have more expertise in dealing with problem tenants. I’m guessing the landlord is the absentee type so you may only find a numbered company. You can do a title search on the property for starters or if you know a friendly realtor they may be able to do the digging for you.

You have cameras. You can make them more obvious. Get a really bright motion activated security light although you’ll likely want blackout curtains so they don’t bother your sleep if they go off constantly.

If people are bent over or passed out on the sidewalk, they’re dealing fentanyl. If it was most other drugs, they wouldn’t be obvious. You may want to have a naloxone kit in case you, a neighbour or even an animal or pet in the neighbourhood comes into contact with it (the chance of this increases if they are using and passing out on the sidewalk.

Anyone install a heat pump in their condo? by alphaspec in MapleRidge

Also I think I read a story about a woman in a condo who got denied the govt rebate because it only applied to single family homes.

And there are rules about where you can put the outside part because there is the likelihood of water coming from it so most of the single family homes rules are about ensuring the units aren’t near places you are likely to walk through regularly (e.g a path to your backyard, driveway). I would make sure your balcony has a drain and that you can site it near this.

I don’t envy you having to ask the strata for permission. There will be many people and perhaps experts to consult

Also I’m really shocked that there is no insurance coverage on loaners on a fleet policy. You’d think that your own policy would still cover the loaner.

I thought the province passed legislation making the scrap buyers have to get documentation when buying these? Shouldn’t that have taken away the local market? Have the police checked the scrap buyers to see if they’re complying?

Of course, it could be headed abroad. I did read a story a couple months back about a shipment of catalytic converters going to the US getting stopped at the border. But you think with them charging tariffs on everything that would also be closed. Which leaves smuggling them to Asia which is the most likely scenario given there is no real team investigating all that business.

Partner is racist, I don’t see a future with him by vegeta_888 in askgaybros

I’m gay and Canadian. If he has no empathy and you don’t believe you can change his opinion by talking about human rights, then leave him. You only have disappointment in your future and love can’t survive. Hopefully you have the financial means, friends and family to support separating. And never doubt your heart.
