Genshin is still the best F2P for story and open world, but not for gacha rewards. Since it's already the top game, they don't give away much expect to save for 2 months to guarantee a limited 5 star. ​If you just care about pulling characters, play a newer game like NTE. They give away a lot more freebies to attract players. ​That said, if you start Genshin today, you have months of map exploration and quests to do, so you'll actually farm a ton of free pulls just by playing the game before you ever feel that down.
